BASIN COMMUNITY CALENDAR: Ending June and into July 2025

COLUMBIA BASIN — July will sizzle in the Basin, both the weather and the events scene. Here are a few things coming up this month:  


June 27 


Summer Concert Series: Whiplash Rodeo 

Free concert by country and classic rock band Whiplash Rodeo. Bring your dancing shoes, a blanket, a picnic and your friends for a family-friendly evening. 8 p.m. at the Centennial Amphitheater, McCosh Park, Moses Lake. Info: 509-764-3830. 


June 28 


Central Basin Audubon Society Bird Walk 

Bring Discover pass, binoculars, snacks and water and sturdy walking shoes. Walk will be 3-4 miles on some uneven surfaces, but attendees can walk less if needed. No restroom facilities are available. No dogs. 8 a.m. at the Gloyd Seeps parking lot, 7 miles north of Highway 17 on Stratford Road. Info: 509-475-3143. 


Kids’ Seedling Day 

Children and families can plant seedlings donated by Crab Creek Gardens to take home, plus get planting tips to keep them growing. Saturday Market

Bake Sale

CISNCW Golf Tournament 

Fundraiser to support Communities In Schools of North Central Washington. Every dollar raised goes toward helping students stay in school and succeed. Whether you're a golfer, a sponsor or just want to be part of something meaningful, it’s a great way to have fun and give back at the same time. $200 per player.  Registration starts at 8 a.m., shotgun start at 9 a.m. at Moses Lake Golf Club, 1373 Road F.2 NE. June 28-29 


Last Stand Junior Rodeo

June 29 


Grant County Cars & Coffee 

Start your engines (but gently), grab a coffee next door, and roll into the scene. Whether you ride low, roll high, or cruise on two wheels, this meet is for anyone who loves their machine — no matter the make, model, or how many cup holders it has. 10 a.m. to noon at Valley Quality Homes, 1835 W. Sip and Crochet

July 1 


Autism Movie Day: ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ 

Come enjoy the movie with other autism families. This will be a sensory-friendly movie showing with the lights low but not all the way off, movie volume not as loud, and a room without judgment for those who have extra wiggles. July 3 


Red, White and Boom

July 4 


Fourth of July at George

Othello July 4 celebration 


From the parade to a volleyball tournament, a three-on-three basketball tournament to fireworks, a full day of activity in Othello. Most of the action will be in Lions Park. More information at www.chamberofcommerceothello.org. 


July 7 


Conservation District Pop-up 

Join the Columbia Basin Conservation District for a pop-up program. Children ages 5-12 can enjoy free, hands-on educational activities all about nature, conservation, and the environment. July 8 


Pottery Class: Hand-Built Clay Pitcher 

Learn some ceramic skills as we roll out a raw clay slab and turn it into a pretty pitcher perfect for summer. Come back on Tuesday, July 15 at 1 p.m. to glaze your piece, then pick up the finished piece the week of July 21. $26 per person, includes supplies. 1-3 p.m. at the Moses Lake Museum & Art Center, 401 S. Tunes on Tuesday: Days of Honey

Sensory Activity Hour

Create & Cackle  

Do you like to make stuff? Do you have an unfinished project? Want to just hang out and finish a project? Just drop in, have a drink and a snack and create. Knitting, drawing, sewing, crocheting, perler beading, coloring, painting, origami or basket-weaving – the only limit is what you bring. Friends of the Moses Lake Library Book Sale

A Session for Priorities 

Public meeting for Moses Lake residents to take an honest look at substance use in Moses Lake – what’s happening, why it’s happening, and what we can do about it. We’ll walk through surprising local data, talk through root causes like trauma, access, and community connection, and then work together to define the next priorities for prevention in our town. Live music: Soulcem Acoustic Duo 

Soulcem Acoustic Duo are unique in their instrumentation, including lead vocals, harmony vocals, acoustic guitar, electric bass and percussion all at once to create a sound akin to that of a much larger ensemble. BassICally Live Music
