Canal safety urged after drowning incidents
An irrigation canal on Baseline Road East, outside Moses Lake. Two drownings occurred in Grant County this year because of irrigation canals. Grant County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind residents to be vigilant and safe around the waterways.

Two Grant County residents have drowned in irrigation canals this year. Last year, there was one drowning and the two years prior there was zero, according to Grant County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Kyle Foreman.
