Soap Lake Library celebrating renewed look, efficient layout
The Soap Lake Library has soft opened with new renovations. The library will be holding a grand reopening ceremony June 20 with activities.

Stephanie Jackson, the temporary librarian at the Soap Lake Library, said residents have been coming in just to get a new look at the upgrades. She said they are working on adding final touches such as adding art and plants.
The Soap Lake library reorganized the layout with a family play section, pictured, added to the back corner. Half of the library includes another section for children and another for teens.
The new layout of the Soap Lake Library has split the library in half with one half for families, children and teens. The other half of the library is for adults. Librarian Stephanie Jackson said parents have complimented the new layout because it allows for them to watch their kids but also have space where they can “read in peace.”
The Soap Lake Library has computers that anyone can use. There are also opportunities to scan, print, fax and copy documents. All of which are free or low cost.
The Soap Lake Library now has an area for adults, which includes books, computers, seating and DVDs.
The Soap Lake Library got new shelves with wheels and reorganized the books. In one aisle there are hobbies, self-help and cooking books that people can check out.

SOAP LAKE – One Soap Lake resident walks into the library, takes one lap around the building, stopping to look at a couple of things. Before he walks out, he turns to the librarian with a smile on his face.
