Soap Lake School District completes successful audit with no findings
SOAP LAKE — The Soap Lake School District has completed its annual financial and federal audit conducted by the Washington State Auditor’s Office. The audit results indicate a strong commitment to fiscal responsibility and compliance with both federal and state regulations.
For the 2023-2024 fiscal year, the district received an unmodified opinion, the highest rating available under applicable accounting standards. This rating highlights the accuracy of the district's financial statements and its adherence to best practices in financial management. Furthermore, the audit revealed no findings, significant deficiencies, or material weaknesses in the district's internal controls.

The audit included a thorough review of the district’s financial statements and its management of federal programs. Importantly, the district also received an unmodified opinion regarding its federal program compliance, confirming that the district met all compliance requirements.
Rolfe emphasized that the district remains dedicated to maintaining high standards of financial accountability.
“Our objective is to ensure that resources are managed effectively to support educational excellence for the Soap Lake community,” Rolfe said. “This commitment is at the heart of our mission and is vital to our students and staff.”
