Moses Lake city offices closed for Fuhr memorial
MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Police Department office will be closed Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday to allow MLPD officers and staff to attend the service for former Moses Lake Police Chief Kevin Fuhr.
Fuhr passed July 21 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He worked as Moses Lake city manager after retiring from the chief’s job.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office will be answering calls to the MLPD office from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to a press release from the city. People who need to talk to an officer are asked to contact MACC Dispatch, 509-762-1160.
Some city offices will be closed from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday. They include the city manager’s office, finance and utility billing, human resources, community development, engineering, and parks, recreation and cultural services administration.
The Moses Lake Museum & Art Center, Surf ‘n Slide water park, Larson Recreation Center and the Public Works administration will stay open, the press release said.
Fuhr's memorial service will be held at the Wallenstien Theater on the Big Bend Community College Campus at 11 a.m.
