Janet K. Cassiano
Janet K. Cassiano was born Jan. 3, 1952, to Glenn Brown and Beulah (Casteel) Brown.
In 1970, Janet met her high school sweetheart, Joe Cassiano Jr., and they were married in 1972. She passed away at the age of 73 with her loving family at her side.
Janet was a lifelong resident of Moses Lake. She graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1970. She later graduated from a clerical trade school in Kennewick, Wash.
She worked for the school district for several years as a teaching assistant and data entry clerk. She spent many years as a medical assistant at Confluence Health formerly known as the Moses Lake Clinic before retiring in 2022 with over 37 years. She enjoyed helping people and always had time to chat.
Janet loved to bake with her granddaughter, Maquela, teaching her many of the family recipes, including her famous potato salad. She spent many weekends playing board games with her grandsons, Joseph IV and Joshua. She especially loved to go camping with her grandkids and poodles. She loved sewing, spending time with her family, and collecting red kitchen gadgets.
Janet is survived by her son, Joseph J Cassiano III (Mary), grandchildren Joseph IV, Maquela and Joshua; sister Shirley (Brown) Hyatt and brother Gerald Brown (Sheri). Including in-laws Johnny Cassiano (Lori) and David Curnel. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews, Tracy Hyatt, Daniel Hyatt (Bonnie), Alan Hyatt (Nicole), Lissa (Brian) O'Rourke, Lara Sansoucy, Tegan (Chris) Keele, Chelsea Roth (Dustin), Melissa Curnel Pendleton, Evan Cassiano (Cree), Erin Suarez (Alvin), and many aunts, uncles, cousins and great-nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Cassiano Jr., father Glenn Brown and mother Beula Brown.
A life celebration reception will be held Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025, at the Best Western Hotel Banquet Room in Moses Lake from 2-4 p.m.
