Antonio (Tony) Moreno
Antonio (Tony) Moreno, born May 14, 1931, in Pflugerville, Texas, to Hipolito and Gertrudis Moreno. He passed July 24, 2025, in his home of 55 years, surrounded by loved ones. He was 94.
A special “Thank You!” to his son, Mark, who assisted granddaughters Joey (Josefita) Johnson and Justine Alden who took exceptional care of Dad and Mom the last one and a half years.
Tony married the love of his life, Josefita (Josie) in Madera, Calif., on April 28, 1958, where they lived for three years before moving to Washington. They lived a majority of the time in Warden. Tony was a hardworking man and fully retired at the age of 80 from Pureline Seeds in Warden.
Tony proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was in England when Queen Elizabeth was crowned.
Together, he and Josie raised nine children: Lydia M Young (John), Martina M Moreno (Michael Westcott), Sophia Dickman (Richard), Trudy Healy, Angelica Hayes, Mark Moreno, Mona L. Moreno, Virginia (Gina) Loman (Michael) and Fernando Moreno.
Tony and Josie had great joy and pleasure in getting to know their 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Tony was extra proud to have made it to five generations!
He gave his children many traveling adventures through many states and ending in California to visit Josie's family. He loved to camp, hike, and explore and taught his family so well that they all followed suit. He also taught his family life skills such as using hand tools and checking the oil on their rigs. He taught most of the kids how to drive his old trusty 1941 Chevy Truck.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Julian, Victor, and Sergio, and sisters Helen Suniga and Margarita Castillo.
