LIND – Adams County Fire District 2 had a busy Monday. On Clarence and Iowa Street, there was a smoke investigation, a debris pile smoldering and a follow-up smoke investigation. Then, on Highway 26 and Foulkes Road, there was a wildland fire. There was also one small grass fire.  

MOSES LAKE – Grant County Health District announced the Healthy Lakes Tracker is officially live. The app allows people to check the water conditions of Moses Lake prior to hitting the lake. Access the app at Bit.ly/HealthyLakesTracker.

MOSES LAKE – The Moses Lake Police Department announced the return of the Battle of the Badges at Larson Playfield. MLPD will be taking on the Grant County Sheriff’s Office for their annual charity softball game Sept. 4. 

“After MLPD’s recent win streak, GCSO has gotten very good at graciously losing,” said the statement from MLPD. 

MLPD has won the past three years and is going for a fourth-year win. All proceeds go to the MLPD Community Outreach program.  

MOSES LAKE – The Moses Lake Firefighters are taking over the Taproom this Saturday. From noon to 4 p.m., the Moses Lake Taproom will be hosting MLFD. There will be emergency vehicles to tour, firefighters to meet, educational conversations on fire safety to be had, and donations to be made to the Moses Lake Firefighters Benevolent Fund.   

MOSES LAKE – Columbia Basin K-9s partnered with Cyclepath Spin Studio for a K-9 cycle class at 9 a.m. Saturday. The funds will go to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office for the new K-9 building. Spots are limited and the class costs $35. For more information, visit form.office.com/r/qUjq21MTsp.  

SOAP LAKE – There will be free laundry at the Soap Lake Laundromat from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 19. There will be a limit of two loads per family. “Suds & Salads” will provide breakfast, lunch and games while people wait for their laundry.
