MLPD blotter for July 14, 2025

The reports below were provided by the police department indicated. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.  

July 5

Report of suspicious vehicle parked in front of the business. Vehicles were legally parked.  

Report of suspect entering business office on West Broadway Avenue and stealing approximately $1,800 in cash and several hundred in rolled quarters. Suspect arrested and booked for second-degree theft and second-degree burglary.  

Report of juvenile male riding a motorcycle in roadway and nearly causing a collision. 

Report of physical domestic. Male was arrested for fourth-degree assault – domestic violence and booked into Grant County Jail.  

Report of male subject intoxicated on West Driggs Drive and waving a BB gun around. No subjects on scene felt threatened and did not want to pursue charges. 

Report of domestic near section F in Quincy. Witness saw a male throw beer on a female. Two subjects were in a dating relationship. Male booked into jail. 

Report of male subject arguing with customers and causing a disturbance at business on East Kittleson Road. The manager reported that the same subject stole hats and sunglasses. Officers contacted the subject who was still arguing with customers. The subject was asked to leave property. The manager asked the officers to trespass the subject. The subject signed a trespass notice. 

Report of a group of juveniles throwing rocks and kicking balls at vehicles on East Ninth Avenue. officers found no damage. The reporting party said this is an ongoing issue and the management will not step in or hold any of the children’s parents responsible for children's actions. 

Report of two two-vehicle minor injury collision at West Valley Road and North Central Drive. Vehicle one attempted to make a left turn and was struck by vehicle two. 

Report of shots fired at Sagedale Road Northeast. MLPD responded to assist Grant County Sheriff’s Office. No issues found.  

July 6 

Report of an assault that occurred at the Gorge Amphitheater. Police responded and contacted the reporting party, victims and suspect. Suspect booked into jail for assault and resisting. 

Report of two suspects sleeping in the skate park. Officers trespassed the suspects for 72 hours. 

The reporting party called to report his neighbor walking his dog and allowing it to urinate on his shrubbery. The reporting party sent video of the incident.  

The reporting party called to report a suspicious subject near West Market St. The subject was leaving the area with a recycle bin full of stuff. The subject was contacted and he had a box full of tent poles which he stated he got near the church from the trash. There was nothing reported stolen from the area. 

Report of dog lost on July 4 and ran away from fireworks on West Lakeside Drive. Dog described as Australian Shepherd with owners' information on dog tag. Nothing further. 

Report of stolen bike overnight from campground on West Valley Road. Stolen damage report was taken of the 2017 black and yellow “Clutch” mountain bike. Worth around $450.  

Report of two two-vehicle collision on West Valley Road. Vehicle two was stopped in the outside lane for traffic. Vehicle one failed to slow down and rear-ended vehicle two. Collision report completed. 

Report of subject driving into Civic Park. Subject was warned two nights ago that his license was suspended and he was not allowed to be driving. Referring charges for third-degree driving with license suspended. 

Report of suspect appearing to be under the influence at business on West Valley Road. Suspect attempted to assault another customer near the gas pumps. Officers located the suspect and trespassed him from business for 99 years. 

Report of theft of camera on East Craig Street. The reporting party said the neighbor kids sprayed her camera with water and then stole it when it fell off the door frame. 

Subject observed making obscene gestures in Civic Park. Suspect contacted and trespassed from Civic Park for 72 hours.  

Report of subject warned about golfing in city parks on East Yonezawa Blvd. 

Report of traffic accident on East Hill Avenue. When officers arrived they found suspect vehicle had hit a parked car. Upon further investigation they discovered the driver to be intoxicated. The officers placed the driver under arrest for DUI. The driver was later released and cited for DUI. 

Report of assisting Grant County Sheriff’s Office with a trespassing call on Silica Road Northwest. GCSO handled the investigation. 

Report of fireworks being set off in the neighborhood of East Sixth Avenue. Police drove around area and did not see any fireworks. 

Report of fireworks in area of South Ironwood Drive. Area checked and no fireworks found. 

Report of subject pruning tree at rear of property on South Pioneer Way. Subject contacted and permanently trespassed on behalf of business. 

Report of RV parked on East Broadway Avenue with subject sleeping inside. Subject warned and told to move vehicle out of city streets. 

July 7

Officers assisted Washington State Patrol and Grant County Sheriff’s Office with a blocking collision at Interstate 90 and Road U. Driver of vehicle transported to Samaritan Hospital for further evaluation.  

Report of court order violation between mother and son. Son was placed into custody for the order violation and third-degree assault for spitting in an officer’s face. Suspect was transported to Grant County Jail. 

Report of vandalism at business on East Broadway Avenue. Barbed wire fence area had a hole cut in it; some items were moved around but nothing appeared to be missing. Reporting party asked for extra patrols and would follow up if footage was found. 

Report of male subject appearing to take out firearm from his fanny pack on East Nelson Road. Officer located subject and the “firearm” appeared to be a black Dolce Gabbana cologne. The suspect was trespassed from property for 15 years. 

Report of cold theft at business on North Stratford Road. 

Report of two vehicle accident on South Ash Street and West Fourth Avenue. Both vehicles towed from the scene. 

Report of abandoned boat parked on road on South Crestmont Drive. Boat was red tagged for removal in ten days. 

Report of victim saying he dropped his wallet on the street in front of business on North Stratford Road while carrying a bag of dog food. Victim saw suspect couch down and pick up something on the street behind him. Victim questioned suspect and she denied picking up the wallet. Suspect was not located in the area and seen driving off in green pickup. Case is under investigation.  

Report of vehicle on fire at the Alder Street Fill. The vehicle moved out of roadway and the occupants were fine. 

Officers responded to a call for a welfare check on South Leanne Avenue. When officers arrived, they tried knocking several times to make contact. When officers went through the open side gate, they discovered a deceased male subject in backyard. The coroners office was called and family was notified. 

Report of theft in progress at business on North Stratford Road. Suspect contacted in drive thru of another business. Report to follow. 

Report of trespassing at the Japanese Peace Gardens. When officers arrived, they contacted the male subject who was told to gather his things and move along. 

Report of domestic violence call on East Alderwood Drive. When officers arrived, they spoke to both parties involved. Through officers’ investigation they arrested the female subject for fourth-degree assault – domestic violence.  

Report of drive-by shooting on West Broadway. No injuries. Shell casings recovered and suspect vehicle found abandoned by Grant County Sheriff’s Office. 

July 8

Report of assault on South Clover Drive. Officer developed probable cause to arrest female and she was booked into Grant County Jail. 

Report of USPS driver entering intersection in front of another vehicle on West Fourth Avenue and causing collision. Driver one transported to hospital. 

Report of abandoned property. Reporting party removed shopping cart from his property on South Pioneer Way. Unknown who the shopping cart with the items belongs to. 

Report of Grant County Public Utility District boxes damaged on property on Kinder Road Northeast. Reporting party said the locks were cut off the two boxes and wires were cut. Reporting party getting estimate damage from Grant PUD. Photos and video provided of someone riding on a bike around the property. Investigating further. 

Report of locking mechanism on city park’s coin operated showers damaged at Cascade Park. Shower stalls were temporarily locked. Reporting party provided photos of damage. 

Report of one of the cashiers at business on South Wanapum Drive losing his driver's license. Police responded to business and found the reporting party’s ID in his wallet. 

Report of trespassing call at business on South Pioneer Way. When officers arrived, they contacted a female subject with shopping cart. The female was told to return the shopping cart to the store and was trespassed from property. 

Report of subject inside garbage container behind business on North Central Drive. Subject trespassed from location.  

July 9

Report of subject overdosing on North Stratford Road. Narcan administered and patient seen by medics. 

Report of graffiti on a fence on East Broadway Avenue. The reporting party did not have video of subjects. Officers took photos of damage.
