Ephrata and Quincy police blotters for July 10, 2025

The reports below were provided by the police department indicated. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.  

Ephrata PD 

June 30 

Report of cold burglary at Sagebrush Flats Road. Suspect jumped fence to gain entry to yard and broke the bottom half of a camper trailer door to gain entry. Suspect stole several tires and cut the fence to exit.  

Report of verbal domestic violence at Maringo Road. 

Report of theft in progress. Suspect concealed merchandise and attempted to leave store without paying.  

Report of possible DUI on Basin St. NW. Suspect arrested for DUI. 

Report of aerial fireworks in area. Ephrata PD was working on DUI case and when area was checked, nothing was found.  

July 1 

Report of fireworks being set off on Fifth Ave. SE. Reporting party said there was a used box of fireworks in driveway. EPD officer checked area and was gone on police arrival. Reporting party said she was concerned because she didn’t water because of water shortage. 

Report of vehicle theft in the 700 block of C St. NW. Reporting party said sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) stole vehicle from in front of residence. No video. Stolen report taken and entered. 

Report of theft from C St. SE. Reporting party said subject stole table and fire pit from property.  

Report of attempted vehicle theft. Suspect punched out vehicle driver’s side lock and destroyed the steer column to gain access to ignition area. Suspect unable to steal vehicle but significant damage was caused. 

Report of subject attempting to start fire alongside the road. The area was checked and person was gone on police arrival. 

Report of cold hit and run. An unknown vehicle backed into a legally parked unoccupied vehicle two. Vehicle two had damage to rear driver side bumper. No video in area. 

July 2 

Report of parked vehicle in the 10 block of G Street NE. Reporting party said vehicle had been there for almost three weeks. Neighbors don’t know who it belongs to. DOL out of Montana.  

Report of damage on uninhabited new residence. Residence had no numbers on it but was located on Hunter Street. Unable to reach the owner. Door knocker left. 

Report of harassment at hotel on G St. SW. The reporting party said people were harassing him by trying to break into the hotel at night, and asked for more patrols.  

Report of a used needle found in parking lot on C St. NW. Needle placed in sharps disposal for destruction.  

July 4 

Report of collision in the 1100 block of Basin St. SW. Vehicle one following too closely in turn lane and collided into rear of vehicle two causing reportable damage. 

Report of dog running at large and in custody on Basin St. SW. Police arrived and the reporting party had a male dog in custody. Reporting party put dog on Facebook. The owner called and arrived when police officer showed up the second time. Dog owner questioned about injuries and claimed the dog was hit by a car and is healing. 

Report of cold hit and run collision in 200 block of E St. NE. Reporting party said sometime in the last day, unknown suspected collided with parked car on E. St. Paint transfer appears to be blue or green. 

Report of EPD dispatched to business on Basin St. for possible DUI. Officer checked area and subject was gone on police arrival. 

Report of car with no passenger side mirror and loud exhaust. Ephrata officer stopped the vehicle and the subject had no paperwork. Subject cited for third-degree driving with license suspended, mirror and no insurance.  

Report of found debit card.  

Report of domestic. Reporting party said husband came to her room after argument and threatened to kill her. Reporting party called 911 because he had never said that before. Ephrata officers spoke with reporting party and her husband. Reporting party did not think her husband would follow through. Both agreed to create space between them. 

Report of brush fire caused by fireworks. Ephrata Fire Department arrived and were able to extinguish the fire.  

July 5 

Report of suspect being warned for aerial fireworks. Suspect contacted again, warned again. Police contacted third time and let her know she would be receiving an infraction for aerial fireworks in the mail. 

Report of residence on fire. Upon arrival, it was a bush that was on fire with two subjects using hoses on it. Information given to Ephrata Fire Department to continue to extinguish the fire completely. EFD arrived and took care of fire. Believed fire caused by mortar round that did not go into air. Unknown who shot it off.  

Report of dog in distress in 100 block of F Northeast. Reporting party said there was an abandoned dog at location. Upon police arrival, dog appeared old. Neighbors said it is outside a lot and has skin issues. There is food, water and shade. Spoke to owner who said he is in the process of moving.  

Report of agency assist with Grant County Sheriff’s Office for DUI. Reporting party said vehicle was traveling at high rate of speed, lane issues and losing cargo on Road B NW. Vehicle located by EPD when it entered city. Vehicle stopped in parking lot. Driver arrested for DUI. 

Report of DUI. Reporting party said erratic driver coming into Ephrata. Police found vehicle on Basin Street and followed it westbound. No signs of DUI. 

July 6 

Grant County Sheriff’s Office helped with case, suspect refused to talk with GCSO. Reporting party reported fire inside subject trailer with subject still inside. Ephrata PD arrived and subject had put the fire out with a hose. GCSO arrived after and handled the case. 

Report of traffic stop conducted. Driver cited for second-degree driving with license suspended.  

July 7 

Grant County Sheriff's Office and Washington State patrol dispatched to rollover collision. GCSO arrived first. Determined driver had medical episode that caused the crash. WSP arrived soon after and took over investigation. 

Report of graffiti on various locations along Basin St. NW. 

Report of harassment in 1200 block of Sunset St. SE. Reporting party said she was a third party helping translate for victim. Reporting party said victim had rented to subject and her ex. Subject has made comments towards victim. Officer explained to reporting party and victim protection orders. 

Report of three-vehicle non-injury collision. All three traveled northbound on Basin Street. Vehicle three slowed for the pedestrian. Vehicle two slowed for vehicle three. Vehicle one failed to stop in time. Vehicle one collided with vehicle two, which caused vehicle two to hit vehicle three. All three parties had reportable damage. All three vehicles were drivable. 

Report of two-vehicle collision on Basin and Division. Vehicle one rear-ended vehicle two, which was traveling northbound on Basin Street. Vehicle one flipped after striking vehicle two and rolled into light pole, knocking the pole down. Driver fled on foot but was taken into custody one block away. Suspect driver transported due to injuries from collision. 

Quincy PD 

July 2 

Report of shots in area. 

Report of commercial panic alarm. 

Report of a protection order violation.
