LETTER: Hoping to see a kinder community

Thank you for your editorial in the Thursday, June 26, newspaper. It was very timely and necessary to get the word out. 

I can only hope for a kinder community and that the compassionate side returns.

The editorial you’re referring to is something that I feel Americans should think about each day. Not only are our rights responsibilities, but they also carry weight based on our positions in the community. Speaking from an informed, compassionate place is important, and I encourage all of our readers, elected officials or not, to ensure the things they say are accurate and not based on rumor.
