Ephrata and Soap Lake blotters for July 3, 2025
The reports below were provided by the sheriff's office or police department indicated. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Ephrata PD
June 12
Report of DUI in 800 block of Nat Washington Way. Ephrata PD stopped vehicle. Driver was arrested and booked for DUI.
Report of EPD dispatched to cat in engine compartment. EPD arrived and the kitten was in engine compartment and was able to be removed. The cat taken to doctor.
Report of EPD dispatched for a car all over roadway.
Report of collision on Basin St. SW. Vehicle two was hurting bad. She was taken by ambulance.
Report of found wallet at Senior Center.
June 13
Report of subject trespassing in the 2500 block of Basin Street SW. Reporting party said subject was possibly camping. Police went out to area and did not see any signs of camping.
Report of assist with Soap Lake PD and Grant County Sheriff’s Office for pursuit of a stolen vehicle. Subject fled on foot after crashing near Road 20 and Fern. Both subjects located and arrested.
Report of reckless driver heading west bound on State Route 282 towards Basin St. SW.
June 14
Report of cold damage in 200 block of E Street NE. Reporting party’s ex broke her apartment window with a rock and fled.
Report of trespassing, reporting party said subject was causing issues and assaulted several people. Reporting party just wanted subject to leave.
Report of vehicle prowl on First NW. Reporting party was parked in the Grant County Sheriff’s Office parking lot and while walking to her car she saw the door open and so she activated the alarm. Subject got out of car and fled northeast. Reporting party asked to pursue charges.
Report of found child in 200 block of Ivy St. NE. Non verbal child. Mother arrived on scene shortly after EPD arrived.
Report of overdose in C St. NW. EPD administered several doses of Narcan. Subject transported by LifeLine.
June 15
Report of assisted Washington State Patrol and Grant County Sheriff’s Office with a collision.
June 16
Report of cold collision. Neither party on scene. Reporting party said he was rear-ended with minor damage.
Report of found drugs. Unknown subject dropped small baggie of drugs, turned in to EPD.
Report of single vehicle collision in the 0 block of D St. NE. Reporting party said she thought she hit brake but hit gas into side of apartment building. Reportable damage.
Report of shoplifter in custody. EPD arrived at scene and asset protection said he saw the subject with several large items in her cart, went to pharmacy, got meds, grabbed protein drinks, set them in cart and tried to walk without paying.
June 17
Report of cold theft. Unknown subject stole a green metal folding chair from the front of business. Reporting party wanted incident to be documented.
Report of theft in custody. Two subjects tried to steal from business on Nat Washington Way. Reporting party contacted them as they were trying to leave store. Reporting party requested charges but no trespass.
June 18
Report of reporting party locked out of residence by roomates. Reporting party said front door is never locked and did not have key. Officer knocked on door and roommate opened door and reporting party went inside.
June 20
Report of traffic problem, truck using middle lane to pass people and going high rate of speed.
Report of verbal domestic in the 1000 block of Roosevelt.
Report of subject being trespassed from business on Nat Washington Way after causing disturbance.
Report of possible DUI on Basin St. SW.
June 21
Report of brush fire on both sides of State Route 28. Fire under control and EPD cleared.
Report of suspicious person on Basin St. NE.
Report of one vehicle collision on State Route 282.
Report of threats in 200 block of K St. NE. Reporting party said intoxicated male was making threats toward him. Male subject left in vehicle towards town.
June 22
Report of theft of credit cards at the Gorge. GCSO tracked the use of cards to Ephrata and Moses Lake. Suspect located at residence and arrested by GCSO.
Report of two car crash on Basin St.
Report of cold tagging, red graffiti on the store front of old JC Penny building.
June 24
Report of assisting Grant Co. Sheriff’s Office with overdose at Desert Villa.
Report of domestic in the 10 block of Basin St. NW. Reporting party said a physical altercation began between a male and female subject. Reporting party was still on scene and stated there was nothing actually physical, but the couple was arguing loudly.
Report of burglary in the 10 block of Basin Street SW. Reporting party said female suspect in his apartment does not have permission to be there.
Report of theft at business on Nat Washington Way. Subject only scanning some of the items, not all. Subject left phone at checkout stand.
June 25
Report of two female subjects in the women’s bathroom, coming in and out of the bathroom. Subjects gathered items and left.
Report of unknown subjects breaking into storage unit and taking several personal belongings, including diplomas, passports and birth certificates.
Report of damage and mischief in the 700 block of A St. SE. Reporting party said juveniles were damaging new bathrooms. Juveniles gone on police arrival.
June 26
Report of a suspicious person in parking lot. No one on police arrival.
Report of cold theft. In past two days, unknown suspect stole five gallon propane tank from reporting party’s yard.
Report of cold theft. Reporting party said there was a pair of bolt cutters at the transfer station. Police found cutters that were covered with dirt and rust. Reporting party wanted a report.
Report of theft. Reporting party said friend borrowed car and was damaged and prowled in the 1800 block of Basin St. SW.
June 28
Report of suspicious activity in the 100 block of Basin Street SW. Reporting party said business was open. Upon arrival, building searched and responsible person contacted and said she meant to lock door before leaving.
Report of aerial fireworks. Response delayed due to other calls.
Report of burglary in progress. Male subject gained entry through the east window removing window/air conditioner. Male suspect exited window and left in vehicle.
June 29
Report of cold trespassing and burglary. Reporting party said sometime overnight, unknown suspect entered the property and made access to the barn. Nothing was taken.
Report of marijuana at Grant School. Police arrived and found weed to be in properly marked bag. Collected bag and logged into property for destruction.
Report of theft at Splash Zone. Reporting party said her purse was stolen from her car and someone broke her passenger side window. Cards, ID and cash was stolen.
June 30
Report of cold burglary. Suspect jumped fence and broke the bottom half of camper trailer door to gain entry. Suspect stole several tires and cut fence to exit.
Report of theft in progress. Suspect concealed merchandise and attempted to leave the store without paying.
