UW women’s golf 2024-25 season in review
SEATTLE – The Husky women's golf team simultaneously celebrated the beginning and the end of an era during the 2024-25 season – the kickoff of competition in the Big Ten, and the final year of an illustrious 42-year career of head coach Mary Lou Mulflur, according to a statement by UW Athletics.
The Huskies started out the season at home back in September 2024, finishing in a tie for sixth place at the Leadership & Golf Invitational in University Place, Wash.
With the second tournament of the season in the fall, the Dawgs earned their second-highest finish of the year at the Molly Intercollegiate Invitational in Seaside, Calif., as Washington earned a third-place finish.
UW's best finish – individually and as a team – came in the Aloha State, as the Huskies finished first amongst 17 teams, rounding out the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational 19-under par.
Sophomore Vivian Lu earned co-champion honors, finishing -11 and recording her lowest score of the season (205).
Lu earned many honors along the way, finishing first of five competitors in all tournaments in which she played a full three rounds.
Named to the Annika Award Final Fall Watch List earlier in her sophomore campaign, Lu earned a spot on the All-Big Ten First Team. She also tabbed 2025 WGCA All-American Honorable Mention and Golfweek's 2025 Women's College Golf All-America Honorable Mention.
In its first-ever Big Ten Championships, Washington finished tied for 16th, with Lu, Carmen Lim, Wendy Tang, Amber Li, and Athena Ni making their B1G conference tournament debuts.
