Ronnie Dean Davis

| January 30, 2025 1:47 PM

Ronnie Dean Davis, age 74, of Moses Lake, Wash., passed away peacefully at his home Jan. 27, 2025, along with his beloved dog Layla. Ronnie and Connie (twins) were born Dec. 6, 1950, in Delta, Colo., to Harry Dale Davis, Jr. and Fronia May Marsh (Davis-Taylor).

Ronnie was a man whose life was marked by a deep love of the outdoors and a commitment to service. As a young boy, he joined the Boy Scouts, where he developed a lifelong passion for nature. He graduated from Moses Lake High School and proudly served his country as a radio repairman in the United States Army from April 1971 to April 1974, stationed in Korea. His service included time in a MASH unit, and he received several commendations for his dedication, including the National Defense Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, and Expert Marksman Medal with the M-16 rifle.

After his honorable discharge from the Army, Ronnie purchased a Harley-Davidson and began a career as a short-haul truck driver, which spanned many years. His work allowed him to build lasting friendships, and he became well-known throughout Moses Lake, where he was always a friendly face and a trusted neighbor.

In 1974, Ronnie married his high school sweetheart with her son, Steven; together they then had another son, Jeremy, in 1977. Although their marriage ended in 1986, Ronnie remained a loving and devoted father. Jeremy fondly remembers fishing trips, golfing outings, and their many movie nights, often so engrossed in the films that they'd fall asleep and be awakened by the usher before the next showing. Ronnie’s joyful spirit and sense of humor were contagious; anyone who spent time with him could expect to share a good laugh.

Ronnie’s best friend, Skip, was his companion on countless fishing trips, camping adventures, and coffee breaks at Bob’s Café. Known for his kindness and generosity, Ronnie was a friend to all and a familiar face in the Moses Lake community.

Ronnie is survived by his mother, Fronia May Taylor, of Moses Lake; his son, Jeremy D. Davis (Shawna), of Moses Lake; his grandchildren, Bradley (Brittany) Norris of Moses Lake, Bryan (Rebecca) Faircloth of Charleston, S.C., and Shane (Kayla) Davis of Odessa; as well as 10 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Dale Davis, Jr. of Moses Lake; his sisters, Arlene Davis, Connie DeBoer and Yvonne Russell, all of Moses Lake; and his great-grandson, Ronan Dean Davis of Charleston.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, with details to be announced by his son, Jeremy Davis.

Ronnie will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
