VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY The Moses Lake City Council has one vacancy on the Planning Commission. Qualified applicants must reside in the City or own property or a business within the City Limits. The purpose of the Planning Commission is to review and make recommendations to the Moses Lake City Council on land use planning matters related to the orderly and coordinated growth of the city, including: amendments to the Comprehensive Plan, amendments to the Zoning Code including changes to the official zoning map which are of general applicability, amendments to the subdivision code and environmental regulations, amendments to the shoreline master program, development of affordable housing policies, and other actions request or remanded by the City Council. The Planning Commission is composed of five members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by a majority vote of the City Council without regard to political affiliation. Meetings are held on the Thursday following the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers. The current vacancy will be for an unexpired 3-1/2 year term scheduled to end December 31, 2028, and upon request be considered for reappointment at the end of this term in accordance to MLMC 2.08.740.
