| January 22, 2025 3:28 PM

Leonard Guy Meyer was born Sept. 4, 1943, in Hillsboro, Ore. Leonard was raised in Royal City, Wash., working on his parents’ farm and graduating from Othello High School in 1961.

Soon after graduating, he joined the United States Air Force, serving his country during the Vietnam War. Eventually, Leonard settled back in Royal City to work and raise his family.

After a long career as a ditch rider and large equipment operator for the Quincy Columbia Basin Irrigation District, he retired and pursued his love of flying. He received his pilot's license and worked at Royal Flying Service, helping the local crop dusters.

Leonard enjoyed morning coffee at Spud’s with “the guys.”

In 2021, after some health challenges, he moved to Boise, Idaho, to be closer to family. On Jan. 8, 2025, Leonard passed away peacefully in his home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Elmer Meyer, and his brother, Dennis Meyer.

He is survived by his three daughters; Crystal Mcclain, Kristi Dyer, Myndie Neal, his brother, Larry Meyer, and six grandchildren.

A service will be held at 10 a.m. Jan. 31, 2025, at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise.
