Carol Walster
Carol (Erbele) Walster passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 12, 2025, at the age of 98 in Tumwater, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim.
She is survived by her three children, Dian, Jane and Jim, along with four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A long-time resident of Moses Lake, Wash., Carol was a storyteller and dedicated teacher.
After returning to school as an adult, she obtained a post-graduate degree and a teaching certificate from Central Washington University. Carol then began her career as an elementary teacher in the Moses Lake School District. She always spoke fondly of her friends in Moses Lake and was particularly proud of all the students she taught over the years. She enjoyed seeing them grow and progress from her elementary classroom through high school graduation and beyond. Whenever Carol went to the grocery store, she would meet someone she knew or someone who knew her.
Upon retirement, Carol continued her storytelling with adult audiences and added more tales from her own life and from growing up in North Dakota. Her family was very proud of her creativity and imagination. Carol was dearly loved and her courageous example of living life to the fullest will always be remembered.
