Ephrata PD
Jan. 2
Report of suspicious vehicle in the 10 block of Grant Drive. Reporting person sent photo of suspect vehicle, an older white van with no license plate.
Report of theft. Suspect attempted to steal merchandise on Nat Washington Way. Suspect was contacted and cooperative. Suspect was part of a second theft days earlier. Suspect to be charged for both thefts.
Report of heavily armed main in body armor walking through apartment complex at 4 a.m. Video showed police conducting normal patrol for a reported incident.
Report of elderly male falling from ladder, the subject had a bleeding laceration on his head. Police provided treatment until EMS arrived. Subject and his wife denied transport.
Report of theft at business on Nat Washington Way. Two suspects together, one suspect attempted a cart pushout. When confronted, both fled in vehicle. Suspects located at their residence. Suspect taken into custody without incident. Both suspects trespassed.
Jan. 3
Reporting person said driver pulling out of a business on Basin Street SW clipped the rear of reporting person’s vehicle. Business to look at video and send to EPD if found.
EPD dispatched to Highway 282 for a two-vehicle crash.
Jan. 4
Police saw vehicle driving northbound on Basin Street NW and after driving erratically was stopped and placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI. Once at Grant County Jail, female suspect wanted to fight. Suspect then charged with two counts of third-degree assault.
Report of officer stopping vehicle due to a previous charge of third-degree driving with license suspended. Suspect was cited for third-degree driving with license suspended and released.
Jan. 5
Report of found drugs. Reporting party located and discarded a used syringe in her residence. Reporting party disposed of syringe inside police’s sharps container.
Jan. 6
Report of theft on Basin Street. Reporting party said his Cash App card was stolen Jan. 5. The card was used at four locations – two in Ephrata and two in Soap Lake. Possible suspect name provided by reporting party.
Report of vehicle theft in the 100 block of A Street SE. Reporting party’s vehicle was stolen while at work, the vehicle was last seen around 6 a.m.

Joseph Dean Byrd, 42, Quincy, booked on second-degree theft, anti-harassment protection order and possession of controlled substances.
Damien Luke Alpine, 28, Moses Lake, booked on fourth-degree assault – domestic violence.
Leonel Villa Miranda, 22, Milton, booked on second-degree rape of a child.
Jan. 3
Adonis Jamieson Simmons, 38, Moses Lake, booked on fourth-degree assault – domestic violence and interfering with reporting domestic violence.
Carlos J Ochoa, 20, Royal City, booked on Grant County District Court failure to comply for three counts of fourth-degree assault.
Jan. 4
Travis Jay Morris, 25, Moses Lake, booked on second-degree burglary and Grant County District Court warrant for failure to appear on case regarding fourth-degree assault – domestic violence.
Jan. 5
Mylan Williams, 46, Nespelem, booked on first-degree burglary, first-degree malicious mischief, resisting arrest, four counts of second-degree malicious mischief.
Marcial Flores Cruz, 32, Moses Lake, booked on fourth-degree assault – domestic violence.
Jan. 6
Danny Ray Smith, 52, Moses Lake, booked on Grant County District Court warrant for failure to appear on case regarding DUI and second-degree driving with license suspended.
Angel Alfredo Rivera, 25, Toppenish, booked on two citations: fourth-degree assault – domestic violence and first-degree driving with license suspended. Also booked on seven Grant County District Court warrants for one count of first-degree driving with license suspended, one count of third-degree driving with license suspended and five counts of second-degree driving with license suspended. Also booked on the Department of Corrections Secretary's warrant.
