Larry Pittack
Larry Gene Pittack, 77, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 2, 2025.
Larry was born in Fresno, Calif., on June 24, 1947, to parents Claudie C. Pittack and Carmelina A. (Paolercio) Pittack. They moved to Madera, Calif., in 1955 and then to Wenatchee, Wash., in 1963. He graduated from Eastmont Senior High School in 1965 and received an AA degree from Wenatchee Valley College in 1967. He was married to Patricia Hill in 1968. He graduated from the University of Washington in 1970 with a BS degree in electrical engineering.
He worked for Grant County Public Utility District in Ephrata, Wash., starting in 1970. He worked in various positions leading up to the position of hydro supervisor, which he held when he retired in 2004. He married his wife, Barbara, in 1993. Upon retirement, Larry and Barbara moved to Hamilton, Mont., where they built a home and lived the remaining years of his life.
He has two sons Steven (Tammy) and Rodney (Jie); three step-daughters and spouses Bryna (Aaron), Rachel (Nicholas) and Maribeth (William); and a stepson David. He also has nine grandchildren: Alice, Jason, Chance, Machara, Lillian, Natalee, Eleanor, Tristen and Leah.
Larry was passionate about helping others and during his lifetime was active in many volunteer organizations including Little League Baseball, Boy Scouts of America, PTA, American Red Cross, Ephrata Sage and Sun Festival and various fun runs and in later years Hamilton, Montana’s Haven House Food Pantry. He and Barbara volunteered for several summers with the Montana State Parks. He enjoyed outdoor activities like camping, hunting and fishing but especially enjoyed the peace and solitude being outdoors brings. He considered being able to live in Montana one of the greatest blessings of his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Barbara, in Hamilton, Mont.; his children, stepchildren and grandchildren; and two sisters, Debbie and Robin.
A brief funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, at the Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton, Mont. Interment will take place in the spring.
