Ephrata PD
Dec. 26
Report of vehicle revving its engine near reporting party’s window. Vehicle located and suspect found sleeping in the driver’s seat with foot on the brake and car in gear. Suspect woke up and was compliant with police and no impairment indicated.
Report of a cold hit and run in the 10 block of Basin Street SW. Attempted to call reporting party twice. Reporting party did not answer and voicemail box was not set up.
Dec. 27
Report of two vehicle non-injury/non-blocking collision at state Route 282 and Dodson Road. Vehicle one was behind vehicle two approaching the roundabout. Vehicle two stopped to make sure the roundabout was clear. Vehicle one thought vehicle two was going forward and struck vehicle two.
Report of trespassing on C Street and Fifth Avenue SW. Reporting party said three juveniles tagged the building. The area was searched and no juveniles found and only old tagging was found on the building.
Report of driver being pulled over for defective headlights. Suspect was cited for third-degree driving with license suspended. No plates on vehicle.
Dec. 28
Report of cold collision on Road J.3 NW. Unknown driver hit the reporting party in a parking lot. Reporting party said she was just as much at fault for the collision.
Report of suspicious person in 1000 block of C Street SW. Reporting party was asked by male suspect for wood. Suspect was entering and exiting residents' back yards.
Report of collision in the 700 block of Basin Street NW. Vehicle one was turning and failed to yield. Vehicle two struck vehicle one’s passenger side front quarter panel. Vehicle one towed.
Dec. 29
Report of theft Basin Street SW. Reporting party said female suspect stole merchandise from store and fled on bike. Suspect contacted, returned merchandise and permanently trespassed.
Dec. 30
Report of reporting party getting scammed by a “puppy seller” from TikTok. Reporting party made arrangements to buy the puppy. Suspect demanded money be sent first. Then person who was supposed to deliver puppy asked for more money. The puppy was not delivered.
Report of harassment. Reporting party said hotel manager was harassing her. Motel manager was only requesting payment. Officer helped the reporting party to the front desk and the reporting party paid for another week at the motel.
Report of fraud. Reporting party said somebody had opened two loans in her name. Reporting party said she froze her credit.
Report of theft. Reporting party said unknown suspect stole around five garden gnomes off her porch sometime in the previous two weeks.
Report of drugs. Police officer called back and left voicemail with no call-back.
Report of suspect knocking down figures in a Nativity scene at a church in the 300 block of D Street SW and placing a Burger King crown on baby Jesus. Officer warned suspect not to go onto church property after hours. Officer picked up the Nativity figures.
Dec. 31
Report of new graffiti on business on Basin Street SW. Business contacted and police took photos and estimated damages to be around $300.
Report of suspect trespassing at business on Basin Street SW. Suspect refused to leave when asked. Reporting party wanted suspect trespassed permanently.
Report of theft at business. Suspect concealed merchandise inside of her shirt. Suspect contacted as they were checking out with other merchandise. When contacted suspect revealed the concealed items. Suspect was arrested and booked without incident for second-degree burglary and third-degree theft.
Report of officer pulling over vehicle on D Street NE. Suspect produced no paperwork. Driver’s license showed the suspect to have third-degree driving with license suspended for a collision. Suspect was cited for third-degree driving with license suspended, no insurance and expired registration.
Report of gunshots going off. Police confirmed it was fireworks.
Report of fireworks in the 300 block of E Street NE.
Moses Lake PD
Dec. 23
Report of person camping on city property by Blue Heron Park. Subjects advised to remove tent and leave property.
Report of suspect who attempted to take package from a front porch but was caught via doorbell camera. Officers later contacted the suspect and confirmed he was at residence. Suspect trespassed from residence permanently.
Report of mail fraud. Reporting party was asked to send money to unknown debt collection. The reporting party did not provide any sensitive information.
Report of unknown suspect shooting at new apartment complex construction site on W. Crouse Street. Two entry shots were located and caused damage to the building. Officers were able to locate bullet and logged it for evidence. No suspect identified.
Report of two-vehicle non-injury collision. Driver one parked on the side of road and opened car door, striking a moving vehicle on W. Broadway Avenue.
Report of tools stolen from reporting party's truck overnight on N. Oak Road. Reporting party wishes to press charges.
Report of female suspect shoplifting on N. Stratford Road. The suspect put items in her bag and walked past all points of sale. Suspect permanently trespassed.
Report of hit and run on N. Stratford Road. Reporting party wishes to pursue charges if suspect is identified.
Report of package stolen from porch on N. Dale Road. Reporting party said items included Christmas presents for her daughter. Total value around $170. No suspect at this time.
Report of spectator being disruptive toward high school basketball referee. The spectator was removed from the game and escorted out of the building.
Report that a tow company had located a stolen vehicle on South Frontage Road E. The vehicle had been stolen from Grape Drive. No suspects at this time.
Report of theft on N. Stratford Road. Reporting party said male suspect stole two dog crates and other items. Business wants to press charges and to have suspect trespassed if identified.
Report of two vehicle non-injury collision in private parking lot on S. Division Street.
Report of two subjects smoking unknown substance on S. Grand Drive. Suspects were juveniles and admitted to smoking cigarettes. Subjects warned it was illegal for them to smoke and trespass on private property. Report of two subjects found in shed of business on S. Balsam Street. Both subjects trespassed and booked into Grant County Jail for first-degree trespassing.
Report of vehicle prowl on N. Stratford Road. Two males were booked into Grant County Jail for second-degree attempted burglary, second-degree vehicle prowl and second-degree attempted vehicle prowl.
Report of unknown suspect stealing a pack of Twisted Tea and driving away in dark colored SUV on S. Pioneer Way. Unknown identity of suspect.
Report of suspicious subjects on North Frontage Road E. Male suspect booked for violating protection order.
Report of theft of mail. A package was stolen on W. Central Drive. Unknown suspect.
Report of stolen tools made July 20 to Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office. Subjects asked OCSO to contact MLPD in regard to the matter claiming the suspect lived in Moses Lake. Officers called alleged subject and said he did not steal and tools. He said he had previously worked for the reporting party and the reporting party did not pay the alleged suspect $5,000 for previous jobs. There are no serial numbers or identifying marks on tools.
Dec. 24
Report of unknown suspect stealing items from store on N. Stratford Road. Suspect to be trespassed if identified.
Report of subject unresponsive in vehicle on N. Stratford Road. Moses Lake Fire Department arrived and subjects refused medical treatment. Subjects advised to not drive since they had recently used drugs.
Report of theft of blue Huffy mountain bike with motor. Reporting party wants to press charges if subject identified.
Report of two subjects, in all black, selecting two boxes of shoes and running out of store without paying for them at business on N Stratford Road. Cost of shoes estimated at $94 per pair. Unknown suspect at this time.
Dec. 25
Report of male who came up to reporting party’s window and yelled at her for cutting in line at a drive-thru restaurant on E. Wheeler Road. Police talked to all parties and determined no crime.
Report of a hot pink wallet left at a business on N. Stratford Road. Inside were identification cards, debit cards, credit cards and $90. The reporting party cancelled cards. No suspect at this time.
Report of suspects smoking drugs near fence line outside the sleep center on E. Broadway Avenue.
Report of potentially stolen work visa. Reporting party to pursue charges if stolen and subject is identified.
Report of subjects sleeping on railroad property near E. Broadway Ave. Suspects notified they were trespassing and advised to move along.
Dec. 26
Report of unsheltered person asleep behind business on N. Stratford Road. Drug paraphernalia was found near subject. Subject was trespassed and paraphernalia was turned over to officers.
Report of business broken into overnight on W Broadway Ave. The case is under investigation.
Report of unknown suspect breaking into business on W. Peninsula Drive and stealing $600 in cash from register. Male was wearing dark green jacket, blue jeans and snow boots. Video evidence collected but no further.
Report of front door of residence open on S. Division Road for over 24 hours. Owner of the residence contacted and she said door should not be open. Police searched house and did not see anything out of the ordinary.
Report of graffiti on electrical boxes on S. Division Street. Ongoing issue.
Report of subject in possession of a shopping cart from a business on N. Stratford Road. Subject was contacted and said she found it by the sleep center and did not take it from the business. Police advised her not to take the cart.
Report of a woman using her sister’s identity identity while being booked into Grant County Jail. Report for identity theft to follow.
Report of man found on the ground and not breathing at the post office. Police responded with paramedics and they were able to stabilize the man and transport him to Samaritan Hospital.
Report of subject finding an Airtag in her vehicle. She did not know how it got there. Airtag logged as evidence.
MLPD helped Othello Police Department with taking subject into custody in Othello.
Report of collision on W. Wapato Drive. Police arrested the driver of the vehicle for DUI. Driver taken to Samaritan for an evaluation.
Report of suspicious person refusing to leave a location on W. Marina Drive. Subject was drunk and difficult to communicate with but the subject left the area.
Report of one shot fired. Police responded but did not find any issues.
Report of overdose near W. Valley Road. Police checked area and the person was gone on arrival. Police later located another subject overdosing. Moses Lake Fire Department checked on female who said she did not want to go to the hospital.
Dec. 27
Report of subject damaging a red passenger vehicle on the side of I-90 and throwing rocks at passing vehicles. Suspect was located in the area.
Report of three unknown suspects walking into a business on S. Pioneer Way and leaving with two cases of beer each without paying for it. Suspects ran east after theft.
In Moses Lake there were a total of eight different instances of theft over the holiday season – the instances were a combination of business, residential and mail theft.
