COLUMBIA BASIN — Spring is finally almost here, and high school plays, crafts, live music and Grant County’s iconic Space Burgers await. Here’s what’s happening in March:   


Feb. 28 


Pottery Club 


Are you interested in trying pottery? This casual pottery program is your chance to get your hands dirty and give it a go. This class is geared towards self-starters and the museum will provide you with a small amount of clay, tools and glaze. Three pottery wheels are also available for more experienced potters. Each session includes a bisque fire and a glaze fire. Glaze days are two weeks after each session or by appointment. New participants are asked to register 30 minutes before class for orientation. 1-3 p.m. at the Moses Lake Museum & Art Center, 401 S. Balsam St. Info: 509-764-3830. 


Love the Wine You’re With Sip & Paint

Columbia Basin Home & Garden Show

‘Cinderella’

‘The Myths at the Edge of the World’

Free Family Saturday 


Spring has sprung, so let’s kick off our flower gardens. We will be planting an assortment of flowers in terra cotta pots for you to bring home. There is no charge. Noon-2 p.m. at the Moses Lake Museum & Art Center, 401 S. Balsam St. Info: 509-764-3830.  


Sphinx Virtuosi 


The Sphinx Virtuosi is a dynamic and inspiring professional self-conducted chamber orchestra comprised of 18 accomplished Black and Latinx artists who perform historically excluded composers from the tradition classical canon, such as Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Alberto Ginastera, Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson, Florence Price, Heitor Villa-Lobos and George Walker, as well as annually commissioned new works. Live music by Yotes


Yotes combines his rich baritone vocals with an energetic delivery, playing a mix of songs from 1950s country, 1980s neo-rockabilly, modern Americana, and many genres and eras in between. Adams County Sheriff’s Posse Benefit Auction 


Live and silent auction and banquet. Proceeds support the Adams County Sheriff’s Posse, and adjunct arm of the ACSO that helps with natural disasters, search and rescue, traffic and crowd control, securing crime scenes and more. $15 per plate. 5:30 p.m. at the Othello Eagles Lodge, 127 E. Paint a Doll

2025 Business Expo 


Over 80 local businesses showcase their business and services as well as many giveaways, scavenger hunt to win a Skylight Calendar, and so much fun. Free and open to the public to attend. Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper

Brewing Connections Othello 


Raising a child with special needs can be challenging, but you’re not alone. Ranger Storytime 


Ranger David McWalter will read a story and share some amazing information about our local geography, geology, wildlife and weather. Clue: On Stage

Concealed Carry Class 


This four-hour comprehensive training course is designed to educate individuals on the laws and regulations surrounding the carrying of concealed firearms. This class covers essential topics such as the use of force, firearms safety and the proper handling and storage of firearms, as well as the specific laws and any requirements for obtaining permits in Washington, Oregon, and Arizona. Upon completion of the class, attendees will be eligible to apply for the above-mentioned permits and will also receive a WA — HB-1143 Gun Safety Certificate. Cost is $74.99. Backyard Beekeeping Basics Class

Ephrata Community Resource Forum 


The Ephrata Community Resource Forum brings together diverse stakeholders with an aim toward coordinating efforts and strengthening partnerships in addressing community needs. Beautiful Brushes Art Club 


Whether watercolor, acrylic, oil or mixed medium, bring your supplies for five weeks of collaborative painting. H.E. Gritman Senior Center Fundraising Breakfast  


Enjoy a homemade breakfast of pancakes and sausage or biscuits and gravy and sausage. Cost is $7 and all ages are welcome. Takeout orders for $8 accepted during breakfast hours. ‘Patricia Jensen: A Road Less Traveled’ 


Opening reception for exhibit by Moses Lake artist Patricia Jensen, showcasing a lifetime of artistic work. Jensen’s work can also be seen in the murals at Sinkiuse Square and other locations around Moses Lake. Exhibit runs through May 2. 4-7 p.m.  


Daddy-Daughter Dance

Free one-day event for local high school girls. This conference helps girls grow up to be strong, successful, happy adults. The Othello Sandhill Crane Festival highlights the spring return of Sandhill cranes to the greater Othello area and the Columbia National Wildlife Refuge. Movie Day at the Library 


Free showing of newly released animated Disney movie "Moana 2." This movie is rated PG and runs 2 hours. Walt Disney Animation Studios’ animated musical reunites Moana and Maui three years later for an expansive new voyage alongside a crew of unlikely seafarers. After hearing from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey into long-lost waters for an adventure. Some flashing lights scenes in this film may affect photosensitive viewers.
