Rosa Reyna

| February 27, 2025 5:55 PM

It is with great sorrow that the Reyna family share that Mrs. Rosa Garcia Reyna was called up to the Lord on Feb. 25, 2025, at the age of 87.

Rosita, “Tia Chita,” always led by example. Born in Dilley, Texas, she was the eldest daughter to Gerardo and Antonia Garcia. She was one of eight children. The family would migrate every spring to Washington state to work in agriculture before returning to Texas until deciding to stay in Washington in the 1950s. Picking cotton was something she never forgot.

She met and fell in love with Mr. Guadalupe “Lupito” Reyna. They married and began a journey together that would last 65 years and include ten children, 20 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. They would travel together with or without destinations or plans. She was the copilot.

She was a Tia and Maina to many. Her ability to listen and not judge was a tribute to her great faith in the Lord. She showed her love in the many quilted blankets and Afghans she lovingly made for her family and friends as well as all the wonderful, crocheted projects she completed and gave to others. She will be remembered for so many things but in particular, her gardening, her ability to stay positive, being of service to others and the joy she found in daily routines.

She leaves a large hole in many hearts but her loved ones know she is resting peacefully in the arms of the Lord. Donations can be made in her honor to the American Diabetes Association.

A visitation will be held Monday, March 3, 2025, from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at Kayser’s Chapel of Memories. On Tuesday, March 4, 2025, Rosary will be held at 10 a.m. followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima, Moses Lake, Wash.
