Ephrata PD blotter for Feb. 21, 2025

EPHRATA — The reports below were provided by the Ephrata Police Department. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Other agencies are working on resolving issues with new dispatching software and will be providing blotter information once that has been resolved.  

Feb. 17 

Report of a gray vehicle doing donuts in the Safeway parking lot. While en route the reporting party indicated the vehicle had fled heading toward Quincy. Another officer tried to pull the vehicle over but it fled going more than 80 miles per hour and it was determined to be unsafe to pursue.  

Lost dog located in Safeway parking lot. Reporting party later said dog’s owner had been found.  

Domestic violence call in the 300 block of Fourth Ave. SE. Reporting party said she and her son got into an argument that morning about the TV in his room. Son punched mother in the chest but was aiming for her face. Son also reportedly threw backpack at mother’s face. Statement filed. No visible injuries.  

Request for help from a resident in the 1200 block of Basin Street SW. Reporting party provided with information regarding housing and living arrangements assistance.  

Cold theft reported in the 200 block of Basin Street NW. Reporting party said about $34 in merchandise stolen from a business in the 200 block of Basin Street NW. Reporting party had suspect on video and asked that suspect be permanently trespassed.  

DUI reported on Basin Street SW. Suspect transferred to Washington State Patrol.  

Report of suspect hitting car and bus stop shelter being punched. Suspect was found to be kicking snow away from the structure at the bus stop.  

Feb. 18 

Report of suspicious person in neighbor’s driveway on Maringo Road. Individual was a door-to-door salesman. 

Collision reported in the 300 block of Abel Road. Reporting party advised that gate had caused damage to a transport van. Documentation exchanged.  

Graffiti reported in the 10 block of Grant Drive. Reporting party advised of a tagging on neighbor’s fence. Pictures taken and homeowner talked to. Homeowner said they would have tags covered.  

Road range incident reported on SR 28 at Alder Street. Reporting party noted a vehicle with its trunk open. Reporting party flashed lights to let the other vehicle know something was wrong. Vehicle then followed reporting party to Ephrata High School and occupants yelled at them over the incident.  

Feb. 19 

Officer responded to a report of three subjects walking on the loading dock at the Amtrak station. Upon arrival, new graffiti was discovered on equipment at the sites. Two adults were booked and one juvenile was released after suspects were found and admitted to multiple tagging incidents. Aiden Morris and Anthony Schlicker both arrested on malicious mischief in third degree charges. 

Officer responded to a report that someone had given a minor a vape containing THC at school. The reporting party took the item from his son and turned it into EPD. Reporter wanted it documented and the other child punished. The Ephrata School District was contacted and advised and the suspect was expelled for an unrelated incident that also involved drugs.  

Officer responded to a report of a vehicle on the side of the road and a female with her pants down near it. Unable to locate the vehicle upon arrival.  

Officer dispatched to a home on Seventh Ave SE for a report of a 5-year-old boy left home alone. Officer knocked on outside door and it opened. Interior door was knocked on and a juvenile suspect opened the door. Boy had a cellphone watch that wasn’t charged to call his mom. Mother was called and returned from work. Referral to CPS submitted.  

EPD responded to local gym where suspects likely intentionally clogged toilet and caused damage to building.  

Report of a shed on Railroad Ave. NW being tagged.  

Report of trespassing wherein an intoxicated suspect had entered the victim’s dwelling through an unlocked door. Suspect asked victim questions and did not leave when asked. Officer attempted to contact suspect but suspect was too intoxicated to speak.  

Domestic violence call on Selah Ridge Drive reported by a third party. Reporting party said he spoke with female subject who said she was kicked in the face the prior night by a male suspect. 

Cold theft call for porch pirate incident.  

Officer responded to a parenting plan violation. Mother is supposed to have custody of 6-year-old child but the father would not return him and has not been in contact with the mother. Father lives in the Spokane area.  

Hang up call due to a 911 caller having problem with a phone. Aging resident had been trying to call daughter but phone kept dialing 911. Nurses advised of situation.  

Domestic violence incident reported on H Street NE between two subjects. Third subject claimed all parties told her not to call 911. First subject fled residence prior to law enforcement’s arrival. Fourth subject aggressively told law enforcement to leave property and was uncooperative. Officers were unable to establish probable cause. Third subject was informed that CPS would be informed of the incident.
