COLUMBIA BASIN — Spring may not be here, but you can almost see it on the horizon. Here are a few things to check out while you watch the ground thaw:

LJ Polmateer

Open Mic Night
Enjoy an evening where the stage is open to everyone, and of every skill level. Clue: On Stage
Based on the iconic 1985 Paramount movie which was inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, Clue is a hilarious farce-meets-murder mystery. The tale begins at a remote mansion, where six mysterious guests assemble for an unusual dinner party where murder and blackmail are on the menu. When their host turns up dead, they all become suspects. Led by Wadsworth the butler, Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock and Colonel Mustard race to find the killer as the body count stacks up. Middle School Connect Snow Camp

Winter sowing workshop

Enchanted Evening
Treat your family to a magical night filled with fun and laughter. Enjoy dancing, crafts, photo booth, games and dessert, plus special guest appearances by your favorite fairy tale princes, princesses, and superheros. The first hour is sensory-friendly with reduced noise, softer lighting and smaller crowd. Tickets are $40 for one adult and one child or $60 for a family of four, plus $10 for each additional person. FAFSA assistance
Getting started with federal student aid can be tricky. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid form is used to apply for financial aid for college and graduate school. Like a lot of federal forms, it’s a bit of a lift, but it unlocks opportunities for student loans, scholarships, grants, work-study programs and more. Spokane Teachers Credit Union is partnering with Launch NW and the College Success Foundation to provide qualified help completing the FAFSA. It’s free for any community member with a student considering higher education. STCU membership is not required to attend. No registration necessary. Participants should bring 2023 federal tax return, bank account balances and other financial information. A laptop with Wi-Fi capability is helpful but not necessary. Keepin’ it Clean at the Museum: Homemade Soap and Sugar Scrub
This beginner-level class will teach you to make homemade glycerin soap and a sugar scrub. There will be a variety of scents, colors and inclusions, like dried flowers and herbs, available to make a unique bar of soap. Sugar scrub uses coconut oil, sugar, and essential oils to create a great, moisturizing exfoliant. Museum members are eligible for discounts on classes. For ages 14 and up.
