William (Bill) Braden
William (Bill) Deen Braden, 53, born June 17, 1971, in The Dalles, Ore., passed away Jan. 10, 2025, in Spokane, Wash., after a very brief struggle with an aggressive form of lung cancer.
Bill attended school in Lind through his graduation in 1989. After graduation, he moved to Moses Lake and began to attend Big Bend Community College studying auto mechanics to further his dream. Bill had found his calling early in life. He found his love to find out how things were built and operated at a young age with his grandfather and his father by his side. He then wanted to pursue that love of knowledge into his career of being a mechanic of all things. Nothing was too small or big for him to learn.
Bill continued to live in the Basin the entirety of his adult life, spending time in Lind, Moses Lake, Othello and, most recently, Warden. His daughter was born in 1991 and his son in 1997.
Bill began working at the East Columbia Basin Irrigation District as a mechanic in February 2005. It was there that he met the love of his life, Patty LaRosee. They began dating in 2012, bought their forever home at the Warden Golf Course in November 2013, then married in July of 2017.
Bill passed away surrounded by loved ones. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas, in 2020. He is survived by his wife, Patty LaRosee, and pup Dozer of Warden, Wash.; mother Evelyn Braden of Lind, Wash.; sister Mari Cardwell (Tim) of Moses Lake, Wash.; daughter Alyx Braden and grandson Kash of Watford City, N.D.; son PD Braden (Kailee) and granddaughter Sage of Moses Lake, Wash.; stepson Zach Overton, of Warden, Wash.; nieces Megan Hughes (Daniel) of Burbank, Wash., and Susan Phelps (Kyle); and great-nieces Jazlynn and Hadley of Moses Lake, Wash.
A celebration of life will be held Feb. 22, 2025, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Birdies on Main, located at 120 S. Main St. in Warden, Wash. Any memorials can be given to the charity of choice.
