Columbia Basin Events for Feb. 14-22

COLUMBIA BASIN — Live music, theater, art and family fun await those who are willing to venture out this week. Here are a few possibilities around the Basin: 


Feb. 14 


H.E. Gritman Senior Center Valentine Breakfast 


Bring someone special and enjoy a homemade breakfast of pancakes and sausage or biscuits and gravy and sausage. Cost is $7 and all ages are welcome. There will be Valentine’s treats and a door prize. All proceeds go to support the activities at the Senior Center. 7:30-10 a.m. at 118 W. Main Ave., Ritzville. Info: 509-659-1921. 


Music and Wine Straight From the Vine


Enjoy a fabulous indoor evening with music by Days of Honey, award winning wine, craft brews and hard ciders. Bring a friend or your Valentine’s Day sweetheart. Days of Honey are experienced musicians Zach and Lori, who will be playing a mix of pop, funk, rock, country and some jazz. 6-8 p.m.  at Camas Cove Cellars, 911 Camas Place, Moses Lake. Comedy Night 


Celebrate Valentine's Day with a night full of laughter with Michael Glatzmaier. Every performance is completely improvised, based on audience suggestions. Write down your ideas on paper, and watch as they transform into spontaneous stand-up and comedy songs. Michael recently recorded a Dry Bar special, has performed in festivals like SFIT and Bumbershoot and is currently working on a new improvised documentary comedy special. 8:30 p.m. at Moore Brewing Company, 302 W. Spiced Rye


Spiced Rye, comprised of duo Ellensburg Larry and Re Hart, has well over 60 original songs with what is best described as an Americana/singer-songwriter sound. 2025 Diamond J Rodeo Camp Fundraiser


Silent auction, live auction, dessert dash, games and a smoked brisket dinner with all the fixings by Pete Thiry. $30 per person 13 and older, $20 for 12 and under. Dinner at 5 p.m., auction begins at 6 p.m. at the Ephrata Recreation Center, 112 Basin St. SW. Info and reservations: 509-760-5260. 


Ben Naught 


Love, wine and live country music — what more do you need? Whether you're dancing with your sweetheart or just soaking up the vibes, it’s going to be an unforgettable night. 7:30 p.m. at Beaumont Cellars Winery in Crescent Bar, 23565 Grand Cru Road NW, Quincy. Info: 509-450-6144. 


Feb. 14-23 


Clue: On Stage 


Based on the iconic 1985 Paramount movie which was inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, Clue is a hilarious farce-meets-murder mystery. The tale begins at a remote mansion, where six mysterious guests assemble for an unusual dinner party where murder and blackmail are on the menu. When their host turns up dead, they all become suspects. Led by Wadsworth the butler, Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock and Colonel Mustard race to find the killer as the body count stacks up. Clue is the comedy whodunit that will leave both cult-fans and newcomers in stitches as they try to figure out who did it, where and with what. 7:30 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. at the Masquers Theater, 322 Main Ave. E, Soap Lake. Feb. 15 


Sand Scorpions 35th Anniversary Party 


Celebrate 35 years of off-road fun. Tacos El Rey will cater lunch for $3, or food is available from the restaurant. All ages welcome. Noon at Rick’s, 817 W. Third Ave., Moses Lake. Info: 509-431-4463. 


Open Studio 


Bring your current or planned project and make a mess in the museum instead of at home. Join other artists to socialize and get inspiration. Need a prompt to get started? A museum instructor will be on hand and can help with that. Easels, brushes, rulers and any other re-useable supplies will be provided, as well as a small amount of craft paints, drawing pencils and other supplies for use. Sketching, watercolor, charcoal, pastels, acrylic, oil, whatever your medium is. All levels of experience are welcome. Ages 16 and up. Sundance Film Festival Short Film Tour


The 2024 Short Film Tour was curated from the 2024 festival, including three award-winning titles. The short films are a testament to the unique storytelling potential that the format holds. Audiences can enjoy a mix of fiction, documentary and animated shorts that are funny, sad, inspiring and full of strong characters. Driven by innovation and experimentation, the Short Film Program seeks out filmmaking’s most original voices from around the world. For mature audiences only; films include themes of sex, sexuality, gender and violence. Concessions will be available before the films. Sven Legacy benefit auction

Feb. 17, 24 


Featured Artist Watercolor Class 


This is an amazing opportunity to learn from featured artist Emma Buchanan. She is a local muralist and has a passion for sharing with others. Class will cover watercolor basics, color building and a bit of drawing and perspective. Spots are limited, so reserve early. Class is for ages 10 and up. $40 per person for four weeks. Bingo

Collections Circle  


Help the Quincy Valley Historical Society bring order out of the chaos of the many items the museum is cataloging for its climate-controlled archive. DMLA Annual Meeting 


Be the first to know what's cooking in the heart of Moses Lake. Enjoy an evening where the stage is open to everyone, and of every skill level. Middle School Snow Camp

Winter sowing workshop

Enchanted Evening 


Treat your family to a magical night filled with fun and laughter. Enjoy dancing, crafts, photo booth, games and dessert, plus special guest appearances by your favorite fairy tale princes, princesses and superheroes. The first hour is sensory-friendly with reduced noise, softer lighting and smaller crowd. Tickets are $40 for one adult and one child or $60 for a family of four, plus $10 for each additional person.
