Family Resources Home Care purchases Beneficial In-Home Care

MOSES LAKE — Two home health care agencies that have offices in Moses Lake have merged. Beneficial In-Home Care has been acquired by Family Resource Home Care; the sale was announced Feb. 5. 

Samantha Hoffman, marketing project manager for Family Resource Home Care, said patients shouldn’t experience any changes in the services from either agency. 

“Clients and their families can expect the same level of care they have always received,” Hoffman wrote in response to an email from the Columbia Basin Herald. “Family Resource Home Care is committed to a seamless transition, ensuring that caregivers remain with their clients and that service continuity is prioritized. If any enhancement or additional resources become available, families will be informed, but no immediate disruptions are expected.” 

Home healthcare agencies work with patients, their families and friends to help people remain independent and stay in their homes, Hoffman said. 

“Home care agencies provide essential non-medical services (for) seniors and individuals with disabilities or chronic conditions,” she said. “Our caregivers visit clients in their home or wherever they may reside with services including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, toileting, transfers and ambulation – getting in and out of bed, walking, etc. - companionship, meal preparation, housekeeping, transportation and specialized care for dementia and end-of-life needs. They can also support things like shopping, accompaniment to doctor’s appointments, post-surgical care and social outings. By supporting clients and their families, we help maintain independence and enhance quality of life. Care can range from a few hours a day up to 24 hours a day.”  

The company also provides respite care. The National Institute on Aging defined respite care as short-term relief for primary caregivers, allowing them time to rest, participate in other activities and spend time with other family members and friends.   

Hoffman said the two companies are working to ensure there is minimum disruption as the two companies merge. 

“Over the next several months the newly acquired locations will gradually adopt the Family Resource Home Care name, branding and best practices,” she said. “Communication with clients and their families will be a top priority, keeping them informed of any updates while maintaining the service they rely on.” 

Family Resource Home Care has locations throughout Eastern Washington, as well as Oregon, Idaho and Colorado. In addition to Moses Lake, Beneficial In-Home Care has locations in Wenatchee, Omak, Spokane, Pullman and Colville. The Moses Lake office also serves Adams County.  

Hector Barragan, Family Resource Home Care CEO, said the purchase fits into the company’s strategy.

Corey Ross, Beneficial CEO, said it was good for Beneficial also.

The purchase makes Family Resource Home Care a major provider of home care services in Eastern Washington, the press release said. 

“Combined, the two agencies will serve more clients in these markets than any other home care agency,” it said.
