LETTER: Back again supporting the levy

| February 6, 2025 2:40 AM

I’m back again, hoping that everyone votes, and the school levy passes Feb. 11. Not just for the kids, but for our community as a whole.

I never stopped to think of the trickle-down economic effect on everyone in Moses Lake. Consider all those who lost their jobs due to the failure of the last levy. More jobs will be lost if the upcoming levy fails. Those people will have to cut down on their spending — no fast food, going to restaurants or movies, shopping at Walmart and limiting items at grocery stores. So many extra things will be eliminated. All businesses will be hurt.

I hear that sports may not be available next year. I was at a high school basketball game Friday; hundreds of people were there having a good time. What’s going to happen if there are no school activities to go to? Also, out-of-towners come to watch their kids and grandkids, and they spend money on food, gas, etc. All the aforementioned is what determines the trickle-down economics effect. Give that some serious thought and vote yes on Feb. 11.

Cordially,

Joan Green AKA Grandma Green
