QUINCY – Grant County Sheriff’s Office Deputies Aaron Young and Gunnar Hinds stopped by George Elementary in Quincy to talk with fourth grade students Tuesday.

“They were on patrol,” GCSO Public Information Officer Kyle Foreman said. “They still will stop by a school, and we'll meet with the students at the school.”

Foreman said deputies often stop at schools to talk with students, usually in grades four, five and six.

"They have very receptive audiences with good, genuine questions, and (the deputies) felt that it was important that they stopped by and let the students know that they were safe,” Foreman said.

Foreman said this is just another way for GCSO to be connected within communities and allow for students to build relationships with officers and ask questions they have regarding law enforcement.
