Three returning Ephrata School Board members sworn in

EPHRATA — Ephrata School District Superintendent Ken Murray swore in three of five school board members Monday night. All three ran unopposed in the 2025 general election and are all returning members of the school board.  

“We appreciate their ongoing commitment to supporting students, staff and the Ephrata School District community,” reads a statement from the district.  

Casey Devine received 2,040 votes and there were 18 write-in votes. She was appointed to her role Jan. 16, 2025. Her term expires Dec. 31, 2029. 

Jim Adams received 1,940 votes and there were 22 write-in votes. He was elected to his role Nov. 28, 2023. His current term will expire Dec. 31, 2027. 

Matthew Truscott received 1,929 votes with 27 write-in votes. He was elected to the role Nov. 7, 2023. His term is set to expire Dec. 31, 2027. 

The board also voted to appoint Josh Sainsbury as the board chair and Mike Fluerkens as the vice-chair. Devine is to take over the duties as the board’s legislative representative.
