Man arrested in Cascade Valley shooting
MOSES LAKE — A Moses Lake man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a Nov. 16 shooting in Cascade Valley that left a man with non-life-threatening injuries.
Donald Palmen, 41, was booked into the Grant County Jail on suspicion of first-degree assault, according to a release from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office. He is being held on $500,000 bail.
The shooting occurred in the 7900 block of Dick Road; the victim was an adult male. Palmen and the victim were acquainted with each other, the GCSO release said.
MOSES LAKE — A Moses Lake-area man was taken into custody Thursday morning after he apparently suffered a mental health crisis and pointed a gun at a family member.
The man, whose identity was not released, will undergo a mental health evaluation, according to a release from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office. He allegedly pointed a rifle at a family member, then fired several rounds into the ground. He threw the gun aside, then drove away. The incident occurred at about 11:40 a.m.
Sheriff’s deputies and Moses Lake Police Department officers found the man and took him into custody, the release said. He is accused of second-degree assault and reckless discharge of a firearm.
