Ephrata PD logs for Aug. 28, 2025

The reports below were provided by the Ephrata Police Department. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.  

Aug. 19 

Incident 25EP2779 – 200 block C Street SE: Caller reported fraudulent charges totaling nearly $2,000 made through Facebook. Incident was already reported to the bank; caller requested a case number for documentation. 

Incident 25EP2780 – E Street SE: Caller observed a suspicious individual snooping around an alley while getting coffee. Subject left in a white Chevrolet SUV when noticed. Officers were unable to locate. 

Incident 25EP2781 – 3rd Ave SW and Basin Street SW: Two-vehicle collision. Vehicle 1 struck the rear of Vehicle 2 while attempting to enter the turn lane. Damage was reportable; information exchanged. 

Incident 25EP2782 – Basin Street SW and 3rd Ave SW: Vehicle 1 made a right turn on red without yielding, colliding with Vehicle 2. No injuries reported; information exchanged. 

Incident 25EP2783 – Ephrata (unspecified area): Caller reported a disoriented male in the area. Officers checked but were unable to locate the individual. 

Incident 25EP2784 – C Street SW: Parking complaint. Vehicle had been left roadside for an extended period. Registered owner was confirmed to be deployed military. Family was contacted and agreed to move the vehicle. 

Incident 25EP2785 – Ephrata (unspecified): Caller reported accidental use of his ex-wife’s bank card. Incident discussed with the ex; case number issued. 

Incident 25EP2786 – 1300 block Nat Washington Way: Cold theft reported. Suspect identified from security footage and linked to a prior theft on July 31. Total loss was $305.63. Suspect trespassed; report forwarded to Grant County Prosecutor’s Office. 

Incident 25EP2787 – 100 block 4th Ave SW: Caller concerned about a gasoline container placed on an underground transformer box. Subject contacted; no hazard found. 

Aug. 20 

25EP2789 – Suspicious Person at Park (Vue Crest Pl): Subject found camping in a city park during closed hours (2200–0600). Officers advised him to move along; no further issues. 

25EP2790 – Juvenile Collision (H Street SE): A juvenile riding a bicycle collided with a scooter, then struck a parked vehicle. Damage included a dented bumper and broken taillight. Juvenile was crying and later transported via Lifeline. 

25EP2792 – Suicidal Subject (Ephrata Inn): Male subject reported suicidal thoughts after landlord conflict. Officers provided support, made APS referral, and connected him with Renew and HopeSource. Subject appreciated the contact. 

25EP2793 – Welfare Check (Unspecified): Report of a disoriented individual in a black jacket. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate. 

25EP2796 – Animal Cruelty (Vehicle Incident): Two dogs were left inside a vehicle; one was reportedly seizing. Bystanders intervened. Owner was strongly warned and advised not to leave dogs unattended during errands. 

25EP2797 – Trespassing (Knights Inn): Report of trespassing at motel. Subject was gone on arrival. RP was informed that invited individuals are allowed on the property. 

25EP2798 – Family Dispute (D Street SW): Biological grandmother arrived unannounced, became verbally aggressive. Incident recorded on video. RP requested she be trespassed if she returns. 

25EP2799 – Traffic Complaint (CBH ER): Erratic driving reported; RP suspected a medical emergency. Vehicle later found parked at Columbia Basin Hospital ER. No contact made. 

25EP2802 – Juvenile Disturbance (Unspecified): Physical altercation between juveniles. Parties separated upon officer arrival. Parents contacted and juveniles released to guardians. 

25EP2803 – Theft Follow-Up (Unspecified): RP requested follow-up on prior theft report. After reviewing footage, determined no crime occurred. 

Aug. 21 

Incident 25EP2804 – Unknown Residential Address: Anonymous caller reported hearing possible nonconsensual activity over the past 24 hours. Officers found no evidence; caller later suggested it may have been a repeated recording next door. 

Incident 25EP2805 – 4th Ave SW, Ephrata: Caller requested removal of a subject from the residence, claiming they did not live there. Officers confirmed the subject had legal residency. Caller appeared intoxicated and was advised on eviction procedures. 

Incident 25EP2806 – Parkside Loop SE: Caller reported an unknown individual possibly watching children. Subject left before officers arrived; area was checked but no one was found. 

Incident 25EP2807 – 1st Ave NW: Caller reported a person sleeping behind the business. Subject was issued a trespass notice and left the area without incident. 

Incident 25EP2810 – Ephrata Police Department Station: Caller reported ongoing harassment and stalking by a subject in Portland, including fake social media accounts and threats to contact CPS. Statement taken and resources provided. 

Incident 25EP2812 – Near Intersection (unspecified): Vehicle reported as a traffic hazard due to improper parking. Owner was contacted and agreed to move the vehicle later that evening. 

Incident 25EP2813 – Alley between Alder and Basin St NW: Caller found a 9mm shell casing in the alley. Item was collected and logged. 

Incident 25EP2814 – CBH Emergency Room: Discharged patient refused to leave the ER. Officers communicated with the individual, who eventually departed peacefully. 

Incident 25EP2815 – Nat Washington Way: Caller reported a cold theft involving multiple suspects. Items were placed in a suitcase and removed without payment. Caller requested charges and trespass. 

Incident 25EP2816  – Nat Washington Way: Suspect attempted to steal shoes but was stopped before leaving the store. Suspect was compliant; caller declined to press charges. 

Incident 25EP2817 – Unspecified Area: Animal-related complaint. Officers checked the area but found nothing. 

Aug. 22 

Incident 25EP2818 – Ephrata (unspecified area): Report of dogs barking. Dogs located; owner asked to bring them inside and complied. 

Incident 25EP2820 – Soap Lake: Caller reported her son asleep in a vehicle, possibly with warrants and driving while license suspended. Officers responded; subject was gone on arrival. 

Incident 25EP2821 – Detached garage (unspecified): Caller reported unauthorized access to garage via alley. Minor gardening items taken. Requested extra patrols. 

Incident 25EP2822 – (unspecified): Caller received unwanted messages from an ex. Advised to retain messages and consider a protection order if contact continues. 

Incident 25EP2823 – 100 block E Street SW, Ephrata" Suicide attempt reported. Subject contacted and transported to CBH by Lifeline. Pickup order issued by GCMH. 

Aug. 23

Incident 25EP2831 – 1200 block Yakima St SE, Ephrata: Caller reported people outside her home. Officers found no one. Caller has known mental health and dementia history. 

Incident 25EP2833 – 200 block D Street NW, Ephrata: Civil standby requested for jail release. Subject contacted and escorted without incident. 

Incident 25EP2834 – Columbia Rd, Ephrata: Caller from Colorado reported concerning texts from his son. Officers unable to locate anyone at residence. House appeared in order; neighbor suggested family may be camping. ATL issued. 

Incident 25EP2835 – A Street SE, Ephrata: Cold assault reported. Victim stated he confronted males at skate park about offering drugs to a minor. Minor allegedly struck victim in the face. Minor injury reported.

Incident 25EP2836 – 1300 block Nat Washington Way, Ephrata: Cold theft reported. Subject took NBA trading cards without paying. Subject had prior trespass history. 

Incident 25EP2839 – 100 block E Street SE, Ephrata: Recurring dog barking complaint. Officers checked area; no barking heard at time of response. 

Incident 25EP2841 – 19000 block Division Rd N, Ephrata: Assist agency call. Domestic verbal dispute reported. Suspect left scene in a vehicle prior to arrival. Probable cause established for residential burglary and order violation. 

Aug. 24 

Incident 25EP2843 – 8300 block Rd 11.5 NW, Ephrata: Assist agency call. Caller reported father being aggressive and physical with mother and brother. Alcohol involved. Officers responded; details unclear due to intoxication. 

Incident 25EP2844 – 1000 block 3rd Ave NE, Ephrata: Neighbor dispute. Caller reported neighbor rang doorbell and opened door. Neighbor denied opening door. Both parties advised to give each other space. 

Incident 25EP2845 – Ephrata (unspecified): Caller reported ex made threatening gestures and demanded money during a scheduled child exchange. Concern expressed for future interactions. 

Incident 25EP2846 – E Street SW, Ephrata: Suspicious activity. Caller believed someone used his toothbrush inappropriately. Requested prayer; no further action taken. 

Incident 25EP2850 – (location unspecified): 911 hang-up. Caller reported a man with a gun outside. Follow-up caller stated original RP has dementia and situation was fine. Officers confirmed scene was secure.

25EP2854 – Stray Animal Complaint (G Street NE): Caller reported a neighbor’s dog causing a disturbance. Officers checked the area twice but found no dog. MACC was advised not to dispatch further stray calls unless confirmed. 

25EP2855 – Traffic Hazard (SR 282): Caller reported a large piece of metal in the roadway. Officers removed it and cleared the hazard. 

25EP2856 – Suspicious Burglary Report (SR 28 E, Soap Lake): Caller received a text suggesting someone was inside the residence. Officers cleared the home; no suspect found. No surveillance footage available. 

25EP2857 – Vehicle Theft (F Street NW): Vehicle stolen from a workplace parking lot overnight. Surveillance footage captured the theft around 12:40 a.m. Vehicle headed northbound toward Soap Lake. ATL issued. 

25EP2858 – Home Invasion / Misunderstanding (F Street SW): Caller found a male subject in his daughter’s bed. Daughter initially denied knowing him, but later confirmed via Snapchat that she had invited him. No charges filed. 

25EP2859 – Suspicious Person / Welfare Check (Unspecified): Caller felt followed by an individual acting strangely. Officers spoke with the subject, who was fine and simply walking home. 

25EP2860 – Suspicious Activity (Ephrata Senior Thrift Store): Gas cap found removed from a new truck; shoes discovered nearby. No damage reported. RP requested extra patrols and planned to install a locking gas cap. 

25EP2861 – Past Burglary / Unusual Complaint (Unspecified): Caller reported people entering his trailer and smoking his marijuana. Also claimed intruders tampered with his ADT alarm and left bodily residue. No further action taken. 

25EP2862 – Possible Burglary / Miscommunication (Unspecified): Caller suspected a burglary in progress. Officers found two individuals attempting to contact the homeowner, who later confirmed everything was fine. 

25EP2863 – Traffic Complaint (SR 282): Caller reported a vehicle driving erratically. Officers located the vehicle and spoke with the driver, who denied any issues. No further action taken.
