Quincy house catches fire Sunday morning, no injuries
QUINCY – Nobody was hurt when a residence in Quincy caught fire Sunday morning.
Firefighters responded a little after 6:30 a.m. to a report of a structure fire in the 700 block of Fourth Avenue Southeast.
“The fire was contained to the slot,” said Grant County Fire District 3 Chief David Durfee. “We had one exposure; the neighbor had some flame impingement. We were able to save the house.”
Approximately 20 firefighters were on the scene along with Columbia EMS and Quincy Police Department officers, Durfee said. The fire was out by 8 a.m.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, Durfee said.
