Ephrata PD logs for Aug. 21, 2025

The reports below were provided by the Ephrata Police Department. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. 

Aug. 12 

Report of trespassing. Property owner where they are building the new hotel said he is putting trespass signs. Property owner does not want anyone using the land behind Walmart as a route to get there.  

Report of trespassing. Reporting party said the theft subject was back on the property. Subject was detained and confessed to stealing items on two occasions. Partial items recovered from first theft and all items recovered from Aug. 12 theft. 

Report of Grant Public Utility District receiving email from a former employee attempting to solicit a female for sexual acts. Subject does not live in the state anymore and has not been employed by PUD for over a year. 

Aug. 13 

Report of fender bender in the 400 block of Diamond Drive. Vehicle one reversing into parking stall and hit vehicles two’s driver side bumper.  

Report of weapons and threat in the 400 block of the sixth avenue southeast. Reporting party advised subject displayed firearm during argument over cigarette butts. Both parties spoke with and determined no crime occurred.  

Report of cold collision in the 1300 block of Basin Street. 

Report of theft and fraud at business on Nat Washington Way. Reporting party said there were two male subjects that were in the process of return fraud. Police determined forgery and theft occurred. Moth male subjects arrested and booked. 

Aug. 15 

Report of vehicle stolen in Quincy. Quincy PD requested Ephrata PD to contact reporting party and to complete stolen vehicle report. 

Aug. 16 

Report of theft. Reporting party said she went to get inside her vehicle and found someone had tried breaking into it. Driver’s side door handle and lock were damaged. Reporting party said they left a tracker in her car.  

Report of theft at business on Nat Washington Way. Reporting party said subject grabbed items without paying and left. Subject trespasses. 

Report of damage. Reporting party said vehicle was getting broken into. Police arrived and saw the door handle and lock were damaged. Reporting party said they would like to press charges. Nothing taken, only damaged. 

Aug. 18 

Report of collision on Basin and Division. Driver was lost in thought and ran the red light at the intersection. Vehicle one collided with vehicle two at the intersection.  

Report of two juveniles on water tower. Located two subject on the north older water tower. Subjects were sitting and eating food, enjoying the view. Both were cooperative and understood dangers of this and agreed to not do this again.
