Repaving near Moses Lake switching to nighttime
MOSES LAKE — Repaving work on a section of Interstate 90 near Moses Lake has switched to nights at least through this week.
“The nighttime work will involve a section of I-90 that runs through Moses Lake from just west of Mae Valley (milepost 172) to State Route 17 (milepost 179),” wrote Sebastian Moraga, communications consultant with the Washington Department of Transportation, in a press release. “They will switch to nighttime work to have the least impact on traffic.”
Crews will be working from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday.
“Work will occur from east to west,” Moraga said.
Drivers should be prepared for single-lane traffic and reduced speeds in the work zones.
Part of the work will include intermittent ramp closures in the construction area. Eastbound ramps will be closed on and off at Mae Valley-Dodson Road (exit 174), West Broadway Avenue (exit 176) and the SR 17 intersection (exit 179).
“These ramps will not be closed simultaneously, nor will they be closed the entire time, since they will serve as detours for one another,” Moraga said. “Signs will be posted on the ramp to inform travelers of the closures. Once the ramps are closed, portable electronic message signs will inform travelers of possible detours.”
