David Allen O’Brien
David “Dave” O’Brien, 52, of Lind, Wash., unexpectedly passed away Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025, of natural causes at his home.
He was born Aug. 24, 1972, in Nampa, Idaho. The family moved to Middleton, Wash., where he attended school. David began working in the cattle processing industry and later became a USDA Federal Consumer Safety Inspector and retired after 23 years at a G-9.
David married Rosalie Castro on Nov. 22, 2004, in Caldwell, Idaho. They made their home in Moses Lake, Wash., and later moved to Lind.
One of David’s favorite pastimes was rebuilding old pickups and cars. He also enjoyed singing and playing guitar. His other interests included racing, fishing, watching scary movies, and playing Rummy!
David was gentle and kind. He was a beloved man, brother, husband, father and best friend. He loved God and Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He also considered all of those at The Herd to be good friends and family. He will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by his stepdad, Jerry Swarm.
David is survived by his wife, Rosalie Castro O’Brien; sons Aaron Driscoll, Samuel Stevens, Cole O’Brien, and Conner O’Brien; daughter Jaiden Ireland-Rodriguez; father David O’Brien; step-mother Mandy O’Brien; mother Pamela Swarm; siblings Angela O’Brien, James O’Brien, Junior Swarm, Randy O’Brien, Lilly Hill, and many grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Lind Cemetery on Friday, Aug. 15, 2025, at 11 a.m.
