Ephrata Police Department logs for Aug. 7, 2025
The reports below were provided by the Ephrata Police Department. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
July 22
Report of indecency in the 200 block of Parkside Place. Reporting party said neighbor exposed himself this morning.
Report of cold vehicle prowl in the 600 block of C Street Southwest. Reporting party said vehicle was broken into overnight.
Report of threats and cold harassment at a business in the 1300 block of Basin Street Southwest. Reporting party said an employee had made potential threats. Reporting party asked for male subject to be trespassed.
Report of theft on South Garden Drive. Male and female stole items from business and fled. Vehicle located and subjects taken into custody. Male booked into jail. Female cited and released. Vehicle towed pending search warrant.
July 23
Report of laser reported by a pilot. Pilot was around 20,000 feet in air so they could not give an exact location.
Report of subject throwing folding knife through business window in the 600 block of Basin Street Northwest. Reporting party wants subject to be reminded they are trespassed and to stay off property. Reporting party to consider charges based on cost to fix window.
July 24
Report of subject stuck upside down inside rock pillars. Upon police arrival, police saw just that. Officers used strength to pull subject out. Subject informed not to do that anymore or he might get trespassed. Subject claimed to understand.
July 25
Report of reporting party losing license plate on Basin Street. Plate was turned into EPD. Plate returned.
Report of traffic collision in the 1000 block of Basin Street Southwest. Minor collision in parking lot.
Report of traffic violation at Desert Villa. Grant County Sheriff’s Office asked for assistance with Spanish speaker only. DUI.
Report of domestic in 300 block of E Street Northeast. Reporting party said male subject arrived at address and was involved in physical altercation. Probable cause established for at least fourth-degree assault – domestic violence.
Report of Domestic in 200 block of E Street Northeast. Reporting party said his friend, victim, was being hit by suspect. Reporting party said suspect had punched victim in jaw. Reporting party did not have phone number for victim. Knocked on victims door with no answer. Asked neighbors if saw victim and suspect and they said they were in apartment. No follow up calls.
July 26
Report of suspicious activity in 500 block of C Street Northwest. Reporting party said male subject was removing tree branches and throwing them away. Male subject contacted and told to leave trees alone. Male subject went on his way.
Report of burglary in the 300 block of F Street Northwest. Reporting party said male subject was in the detached garage. Report was 10-20 minutes cold. Police searched area and unable to locate subject. Male subject entered unsecured garage and prowled an unlocked vehicle. Reporting party unsure if anything but loose change was taken.
July 27
Report of domestic in the 100 block of First Avenue Northwest. Follow up required.
Report of cold theft in the 600 block of Basin Street Northwest. Subject took bag of items from drop off area. Unknown what was in bag.
July 28
Report of traffic violation on Division and Alder. Driver was stopped for no plates. Driver was driving with third-degree suspended license. Driver did not have insurance. Driver cited.
Report of theft. While on separate theft call, MACC dispatched to theft at business on Nat Washington Way. Suspects were stopped by Asset Protection and around $500 worth of merchandise was recovered. Female subject located and trespassed.
Report of subject trespassing in business on Basin Street. Subject previously trespassed and buying items. Reporting party wished to pursue chares against subject.
July 29
Report of subject blocking Grant Public Utility District. Police arrived and reporting party said subject parked two cars next to pole that PUD will be installing today. Reporting party confronted the subject but he was intoxicated. Police told the reporting party to have PUD call today if they need police.
Report of traffic violation – road rage. Reporting party said driver was tailgating him while going up the hill on Nat Washington Way. Driver was warned.
Report of theft. Suspect vehicle located while on route to call. Traffic stop conducted. Probable cause established for both subjects for second-degree theft. Vehicle towed pending search warrant to recover stolen goods.
July 30
Report of Ephrata PD dispatched for subjects in car having intercouse on Basin Street Southwest. Police arrived and four subjects were talking in car before heading into business.
Report of an unknown subject attempting to sell asphalt repair services. Reporting party saw there was a scam about it and posted on Grant County Sheriff’s Office Facebook and reported to Ephrata PD.
Report of male subject going through trash in 100 block of Basin Street Southwest. Did not find male subject.
July 31
Report of theft at business in the 1100 block of Basin Street. Reporting party said male subject stole bottle of tequila. Male subject saw getting into older blue pickup.
Report of cold assault in the 200 block of Nat Washington Way. Reporting party said male subject was verbally aggressive towards female subject in the parking lot. Male subject contacted by department and trespassed from establishment for one year.
Report of mail theft on Road A Northwest. Suspect vehicle seen driving into town on Division Avenue. Police checked area and unable to locate.
Report of cold theft in 800 block of J Street Southeast. Reporting party said female subject stole around $300 worth of dirt bike parts that were in package on porch. Reporting party to provide video.
Report of assault on Yakima Street Southeast. Subject said there were multiple people trying to jump him. No assault took place.
Aug. 1
Report of theft. Reporting party said he found a red and white Wilson bag full of clubs. Clubs logged into the Ephrata PD for safe keeping.
Report of traffic collision on J Street Northeast. All vehicle facing westbound on Division and stopped at light. Vehicle one not paying attention and rear ended vehicle two. Vehicle two then pushed into rear of vehicle three.
Report of brush fire, likely started by fireworks.
Aug. 3
Report of cold theft. Suspect pushed cart load of items out of store without paying.
Aug. 4
Report of single vehicle injury collision on State Route 28. Both subjects injured and taken to hospital via ambulance.
Report of cold theft from 2023. Reporting party said social security card, birth certificate and other items stolen from her in 2023.
Report of theft from business on Nat Washington Way. Reporting party said female left with around $57 worth of merchandise. Police unable to locate female subject. Reporting party will be sending video.
Report of theft in 100 block of Fourth Avenue Northwest. Reporting party said her vehicle was broken into. Reporting party said only thing missing is a purse containing $4,000.
