July 13, 1946 – March 22, 2025

Keith Stanley Ehlert, 78, passed March 22, 2025, in Tulsa, Okla.

He was born July 13, 1946, in Taber, Alberta, Canada, to parents Elodie Ada Gibb Ehlert and Victor Richard Ehlert. Keith moved to Moses Lake, Wash., in June of 1952 with his family and lived there and in Warden, Wash., through his teenage years. Keith went on to live in Hawaii; Jersey City, N.J.; Prescott, Ariz.; and San Marcos, Texas, finally settling in Tulsa. He served as food service manager at Yavapai Community College, Ariz., the University of Arizona and North Texas State University and finished his work at Tulsa University.

Keith was a good athlete whose opportunities were limited due to being needed to work on the family farm, though Keith excelled as a high school wrestler at Warden and Moses Lake. I remember one occasion when playing shortstop for the church softball team, always-stylish Keith had a ball get away from him when his Panama style hat fell off and he caught it instead of the ball. Next time up he hit a grand slam. Keith was known as an ebullient man, fun to be around, and well loved by many.

Keith is survived by his former wife, Ronan Ehlert, son Scott, daughter Elodie, sisters Vicki Mason and Elizabeth Christensen, and brothers Richard, Dennis, Donald and Michael. He was preceded in death by Alan.
