MLPD arrests one after firearm shown at coffee stand
MOSES LAKE – A 34-year-old Moses Lake man was arrested Monday afternoon after displaying a handgun in the drive-through of an espresso stand, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies answered the call at around 4:30 p.m. for a weapons offense at the Busy Bean Espresso on Valley Road. The barista had said she became scared when the suspect, Colton Hofstetter, displayed a handgun while making aggressive statements saying he was planning on retaliating against his family. The suspect left the stand.
Soon after, Moses Lake Police Department located Hofstetter near Broadway Avenue and South Balsam Street and took him into custody without incident.
Hofstetter was lodged in Grant County Jail on suspicion of unlawful carrying of a handgun and third-degree malicious mischief for vandalizing a vehicle that belonged to a family member.
