Quincy man arrested for alleged robbery
QUINCY — A Quincy man was arrested on suspicion of first-degree robbery after he allegedly held up a gas station early Friday morning.
Richard Balderas Mondragon, 29, was arrested without incident soon after the alleged robbery, according to a release from the Quincy Police Department. The robbery occurred about 7:15 a.m.
An employee at the Chevron mini-mart, 603 Central Ave. S., in Quincy told law enforcement that a heavyset Hispanic man came into the business, displayed a knife and demanded money from the till, the release said. The employee gave the man an undisclosed amount of money; the man then ran south on Central Avenue away from the business.
“Officers responded to the scene and were able to locate and take the suspect into custody,” the release said.
