Northwest authors to be featured at book show
WENATCHEE — The Write on the River writers group will host its October Bookfest on Oct. 5, according to an announcement from Write on the River. More than 20 local and regional authors, including bestsellers and award winners, will attend the book fair from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the LocalTel Event Center at Pybus Market.
Authors will be selling and signing their books at this free-to-the-public event, offering a wide array of genres including children’s, Christian, personal growth, thriller, memoir, young adult, poetry, romance and more, according to the announcement. October BookFest is Write on the River’s first annual book fair and aims to bring readers and writers together.
“I am so excited Write on the River is able to provide this opportunity for PNW writers and readers to meet and get to know each other,” Melissa Campbell, Write on the River board president, wrote in the announcement. “Wenatchee has such a vibrant writing community; this new event is sure to be a favorite every year.”
Write on the River was founded in 2005 by author Kay Kenyon and a small group of devoted local writers as a nonprofit organization supporting writers through all phases of their writing from inspiration to publication, according to the announcement.
“Washington state is filled with so much writing talent, and Central Washington is no exception,” Petra Hernandez, Write on the River board member, wrote in the announcement. “It’s amazing to highlight the creativity and entrepreneurship of our local and regional authors. It’s even more fun when we can bring in local readers to participate. And we have many more exciting events in the works. So, stay tuned.”
