EPHRATA — The Columbia Basin Foundation is looking for a few good nonprofits.

The foundation is asking the public to tell them about nonprofit organizations that serve the community, according to CBF Executive Director Corinne Isaak. Nominations are due by Oct. 15. Each organization selected will receive $1,000 to further its work during the holiday season.

“We're looking for an organization that's making impact in their local community … whether it's social services, health services, youth services, any type of civic organization,” Isaak said.

To qualify, an organization must be a 501(c)(3). Religious organizations are not eligible, Isaak said.

The number of grants to be given out hasn’t yet been determined, Isaak said. The winning nonprofits will be announced in November.

Nominations can be made at www.cbfcommunity.org. More information is available by calling the CBF office at 509-754-4596.

“Every organization needs a little extra funding, especially during the holidays,” Isaak said. “So, if you know a nonprofit … and you tell us about their good work, we (may) grant them $1,000 that they can use unrestricted.”
