Ephrata PD
Sept. 19
Report of suspicious persons at bus stop. Reporting party’s grandson said there were three adults trying to make his friend go with them. Grandson got nervous and ran home. Police went to friend's house and spoke with his dad. Dad said he was at bus stop and there was nothing suspicious.
Report of found property. Reporting party found wallet abandoned near back door of business with credit cards, driver's license and receipts. Tried to contact owner, no response. Logged as property.
Sept. 20
Report of theft in 300 block of Fourth Avenue NW at Ephrata High School baseball field. Reporting party said male suspect on motorized stand-up scooter wearing black sweater and helmet took student's Chromebook and backpack. Suspect last seen heading toward Lee Theater.
Sept. 22
Report of minor driving under influence.
Report of vehicle prowl in 300 block of Ninth Avenue SS. Unknown suspect got in vehicle and took three devices and victim’s ID.
Sept. 23
Report of fraud, reporting party met female suspect to deliver pizza. She paid with $100 bill which was fake. Suspect description obtained and fake bill logged into evidence.
Report of four juveniles climbing shipping container at Columbia Ridge Elementary. Subjects said they just wanted to climb. Told to move on.
Report of suspect coming to Columbia Basin Hospital with possible gunshot wound. Case opened on Road 19. Grant County Sheriff’s Office handling case.
Report of damage on Patrick Road. Unknown suspect hit light fixtures outside business.
Sept. 24
Report of theft on Basin Street SW. Suspect left store without paying in gray Honda. Police did not locate, however they recognized him from security footage.
Report of someone picking up reporting party’s wallet and spending $280. Reporting party wants wallet back or to press charges.
Report of suspect driving without license. Cited for second-degree driving without license and speeding.
Report of neighbor shooting dog with BB gun. Dog was injured.
Sept. 25
Report of cold threats at Ephrata High School. Reporting party said male suspect made threats to reporting party’s daughter, niece and reporting party. Daughter and niece removed from school for day.
Report of fraud. Victim tried to purchase iPhone through Facebook. Victim sent money. Victim never got phone.
Report of juvenile breaking into safe and stealing weed pen. Two safes damaged. Potential charges of third-degree malicious misconduct – domestic violence and third-degree theft.
Report of DUI on Division Avenue.

Sept. 20
Report of fight at Frontier Middle School. School administrators handled.
Report of two-vehicle collision on E. Broadway Avenue. Vehicle one collided with vehicle two on front right corner after failing to yield.
Report of student assaulted at Endeavor Middle School. Students disciplined per school policy.
Three students caught ditching school and shoplifting at two stores. Students transported back to Moses Lake High School. Parents called. Principal handled discipline.
Report of two-vehicle collision on W. Broadway and Third avenues. Vehicle one was hit on left rear side by vehicle two.
Report of fraud on Snapchat. Reporting party was told to send $1,000 which he did via Apple Pay. Following, suspect asked for another payment or they would send pictures to his contacts. Reporting party told to contact bank, cancel transaction and block user.
Report of rolling domestic on Lakeshore Drive. Suspect arrested for fourth-degree assault – domestic violence.
Report of two-vehicle collision at intersection of State Route 17 and N. Grape Drive. Both vehicles driveable.
Report of someone looking through reporting party’s windows on S. Juniper Drive. No one in backyard.
Sept. 21
Report of three shots fired on E. Ninth Avenue. Nothing found on police arrival.
Report of reporting party’s son taking vehicle without permission. Vehicle returned to lot. Police spoke with son, warning of potential consequences.
Report of 50 shots fired on Harris Road NE. Nothing found upon police arrival.
Report of male overdosing at business on N. Stratford Road. Moses Lake Fire Department transported subject.
Report of suspect driving stolen vehicle. Suspect arrested.
Report of two-vehicle collision on W. Broadway Avenue and S. Ash Street. Vehicle one failed ran red light and struck vehicle two.
Report of stolen firearm out of truck at Sunburst Court.
Report of juvenile, previously trespassed from business on Stratford Road, flashed knife at rival gang members in store. Charges to be filed for second-degree burglary, possession of dangerous weapon, disorderly conduct and trespass violation.
Report of subject overdosing on fentanyl on W. Marina Drive. Narcan and CPR administered prior to police arrival. Subject denied medical aid.
Sept. 22
Report of intoxicated male walking into wrong residence, male confronted, transported to the Samaritan for injuries from confrontation. Resident did not press charges.
Report of suspect arrested for speeding and DUI on S. Balsam Street.
Moses Lake Fire Department asked for help after suspect admitted to lighting trash can on fire. Suspect arrested.
Report of chat on social media where reporting party said she believed it to be an older male portraying younger male communicating with her daughter. Phone and tablet turned over for search, under investigation.
Report of shots fired on Lowry Street. Three suspects detained.
Report of suspect stealing at business on N. Stratford Road. Suspect previously trespassed and booked for second-degree burglary.
Report of domestic in parking lot of business on N. Stratford Road. Suspect broke windshield. Report to be filed for third-degree malicious mischief – domestic violence. Suspect gone on police arrival.
Report of suspect trying to steal vacuum from business on N. Stratford Road. Suspect left store before police arrival.
Report of unknown suspect throwing shredded cheese on reporting party’s vehicles on N. Buell Street. No video evidence.
Report of two suspects shoplifting at business on N. Stratford Road. Male ran on foot before being caught. Both trespassed.
Sept. 23
Collision on Interstate 90. Non-fatal. Semi driver fell asleep.
Report of two-vehicle traffic collision on N. Stratford Road and state Route 17. Vehicle one pulled out of parking lot and collided with vehicle two. No injuries.
