EPHRATA — The fishing season has been extended for three lakes in Grant County, according to an announcement from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.

The gamefish season will run through Oct. 31 on Park, Blue and Deep lakes, according to the announcement. All three lakes are part of the Sun Lakes chain, and Park and Deep Lakes are in Sun Lakes-Dry Falls State Park.

The reason for the change is that WSFW recently adopted a permanent rule change that will extend the season at those lakes in the future, the announcement said. This emergency rule change will allow anglers to fish those lakes through October this year as well. The change will be reflected in future sport fishing rule pamphlets.

Fishers must have a current Washington fishing license, appropriate to the fishery. Check the WDFW "Fishing in Washington" rules pamphlet for details on definitions and regulations. Fishing rules are subject to change. Visit wdfw.wa.gov to find a list of mobile, web, print or customer service phone options for the latest rule information.
