Ephrata man arrested in child porn case
EPHRATA — Jeremy B. Burge, 52, of Ephrata was arrested Wednesday morning during an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation according to a press release from Grant County Sheriff’s Office. This operation was launched following a tip from a concerned citizen to the Quincy Police Department in August.
Detectives executed a search warrant at Burge's residence at 2480 Basin Street Southwest #10, where they recovered imagery depicting child sexual abuse after obtaining search warrants for his Google account. Burge is currently held in the Grant County Jail, facing six charges of possessing depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct according to the press release.
Burge appeared in court Thursday, where he was charged with four counts of first-degree possession and two counts of second-degree possession of child pornography, according to GCSO.
Grant County Superior CourtJudge Tyson Hill set bail at $150,000 in cash or bond. Burge's next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 8, 2024.
Cooperating agencies in this investigation include the Quincy Police Department, Ephrata Police Department and GCSO.
