STUDY: WA most affordable state for used cars
MOSES LAKE — Washington has been identified as the most affordable state in America for purchasing used cars, according to a new study by vehicle issue platform AutoTechIQ.
The analysis, which examined 68,852 unique used and certified pre-owned vehicle listings on Cars.com, reveals that the average price of a second-hand vehicle in Washington is $24,672.96 — nearly $2,000 less than the next lowest state.
The research categorizes vehicle listings by state to calculate average costs, excluding exotic cars priced over $150,000.
Among Washington's cities, Deer Park stands out for its affordability, with the average price of used cars at $12,042.88. In contrast, Bellevue has the highest average for used car prices in the state, reaching $48,404.30.
Conversely, Alaska and Wyoming are the most expensive states for buying used cars, with average prices of $35,486.97 and $34,360.20, respectively.
