Multiple arrests after Othello-area incident leads to pursuits
OTHELLO — Seven people were arrested in Grant and Adams counties on suspicion of felony harassment and attempting to elude law enforcement following a Sunday incident near Othello that led to a pursuit.
The chase followed an incident on West Kenfield Lane southeast of Othello and people in two vehicles, according to a release from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
“An occupant of one vehicle lifted their shirt in what appeared to be a threatening manner, revealing what was believed to be a firearm, before getting back in the vehicle,” the press release said. “Both vehicles then left the scene.”
Deputies later found both vehicles near West Highway 26 and West Moon Road; the drivers fled when deputies tried to stop them. The drivers went in different directions, with deputies following them, the release said.
One vehicle fled that location but was later located in Warden. Two juveniles in the vehicle were arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of a firearm, felony harassment and attempting to elude law enforcement.
The second vehicle was stopped near Connell. During the pursuit, deputies observed one occupant discard bullet casings, the release said, and casings were later recovered in the area. Two adults and three juveniles were arrested on suspicion of felony harassment and attempting to elude law enforcement.
