Law enforcement logs for Sept. 20, 2024

Reports below were provided by the sheriff’s office or police department indicated. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. 

Ephrata 

Sept. 12 

Report of traffic stop and warrant arrest on Hilltop Drive. Car was stopped for obstructed plate. Passenger observed as suspect with felony warrants. Suspect booked for robbery, burglary and violation of Controlled Substances Act. Driver warned for plate.  

Report of theft at business on Nat Washington Way. Suspect fled in vehicle east on SR 282. Suspect left most items behind when fleeing but took one box of camping tools. Suspect contacted, trespassed and informed charges will be filed.  

Report of cold malicious misconduct. Police were notified of a possible cold burglary at a business on A Street Southeast. Upon arrival, suspect had thrown a baseball sized rock through glass window near front door. Public works was notified and secured facility.  

Report of collision on E Street Northwest. Reporting party said his son parked in alley and when he returned someone had hit his parked car. Damage was to rear passenger bumper and trunk area. Paint transfer appears to be white. 

Sept. 13 

Report of non-injury vehicle collision in 1300 block of Nat Washington Way. Vehicle two was southbound in second lane. Vehicle one exited parking lot and failed to yield right of way. Vehicle one collided into passenger side vehicle two. Reportable damage to both vehicles.  

Report of female suspect with three male suspects taking two Ephrata School District flags. Reporting party got flags back. Suspect said they were going to put them on top of hill. Warning issued. 

Report of fraud. Unknown suspect used reporting party’s PayPal account to purchase items on Ebay for more than $3,000.  

Sept. 15 

Report of cold malicious misconduct on 5th Avenue SE. Reporting party said someone shot her passenger side door, vinyl side three times, bedroom and living room window. 

Report of EPD dispatched to 2nd Avenue NE for a court order violation. Reporting party said she was going home and suspect followed her. Suspect came from south and tried to contact with her, in front of police. Suspect booked for  violations and driving with a suspended license.  

Report of theft. Suspect fled prior to police arrival. Suspect concealed merchandise in purse and left. Suspect unidentified. 

Report of potential driving under the influence. Suspect parked and police made social contact with suspect. Suspect had watery eyes and slurred speech. Suspect arrested on suspicion of a DUI.  

Sept. 16 

Report of suspect driving into jail construction site and turned lights off. Suspect located and he said he is a worker at side and got there early to get some sleep. Suspect says he lives five hours away and decided to come early. 

Report of cold vehicle theft in 13000 block of Dodson Road NW. Business said they had rented out a forklift to party. Renter billed a month later for still having forklift. The renter had called off the rental. 

Report of threat saying reporting party’s mom kidnapped by armed men. Mother was contacted and fine. Determined to be a scam call.  

Report of suspect pushing cart of items out of business on Nat Washington Way. Suspect fled when confronted.  

Report of reporting party pulling out $20 at self checkout. Reportier realized they didn’t grab the cash and when they returned, money was gone. Pics of female suspect and her companion added to files. 

Sept. 17 

Report of subject dumping debris across from City Hall. Suspect said he was cleaning debris off streets and placed it there. 

Report of red Charger crossing double line and into oncoming traffic. 

Report of vehicle struck by street sweeper earlier in the day. Neighbor with camera gave police video footage. 

Report of theft at 500 block C Street SW. Reporting party said suspect stealing from business.  

Report of attempted vehicle prowl. Suspect tried to open reporting party’s toolbox on pickup. Suspect  fled in vehicle.  

Sept. 18 

Report of suspect not scanning items at self check at business on Nat Washington Way. 

Report of suspect loading a cart full of items totaling $448.35 and pushed cart out  front door.  

Report of suspect exiting store on Nat Washington Way. Formerly charged for driving with license suspended. Police made contact and he had someone come pick him up.  

Report of driving under influence, reporting party said they smelled marjuana from vehicle. Vehicle found and did not observe driving impairment.  

Moses Lake 

Sept. 14 

Report of a church sign tagged overnight on Lee Street. Spray paint lid located, collected and sent to crime lab.  

Report of burglary in second-degree on South Pioneer Way. Suspect walked out of business without paying and walked towards movie theater. Police responded and found suspect and obtained stolen merchandise.  

Report of vehicle two parked when vehicle one hit left front of vehicle two on East Plum Street. Vehicle one left parking lot but vehicle two followed. Vehicle two was to stop vehicle one. Vehicle one is unlicensed and did not have insurance.  

Report of hit and run on South Pioneer Way. No damage done to truck that was hit and no charges pressed. 

Report of male and female suspect failing to scan items at self checkout at a business on N. Stratford Road. Suspects not identified.  

Report of two-vehicle collision. Vehicle two was driving westbound on Third Avenue and vehicle one was traveling north on N Block. Vehicle one in intersection when vehicle two hit right back tire of vehicle one. Both vehicles airbags deployed and were towed from scene. 

Report of overdose on Road H NE. Female was provided two doses of Narcan prior to first responders arrival, subject denied medical service. 

Report of suspect arguing with reporting party and attempted to run reporting party over on W. Ridge Road. Suspect one struck reporting party’s vehicle and fled. Reporting party wants to press charges against suspect for striking vehicle but not attempted assault. 

Report of a motorcycle driving into lake near Cascade Park. Police found nothing on arrival. 

Report of MLPD helping Grant County Sheriff’s Office with a DUI stop on West Valley Road. 

Sept. 15 

Report of underage person drinking behind church on W. Basin Road. Gone on police arrival. 

Report of two juveniles getting in a suspicious white van with two males on S. Pioneer Way. Van contacted and did not have children in it. 

Report of someone with respiratory and cardiac issues. Subject later passed. 

Report of unknown suspect taking steel gas can out of boat. Reporting person sent surveillance video. Subject returned can a couple hours later. Video sent to police. No suspects identified. 

Report of male suspect stealing a hose and hose holder in a gated community on E. 9th Avenue. No charges.  

Report of male and female suspect walking their dog and then they walked towards security cameras which are no longer working on W. Lakeside Road. Reporting party requested extra patrols.  

Report of suspect needing to be trespassed from business on N. Stratford Road. Suspect signed trespass order. 

Report of reporting party buying a $200 watch and leaving it in their cart while shopping at a business on North Stratford Road. When reporting party returned to cart, watch was gone. Business is reviewing security footage. 

Report of black or dark blue car taking a corner too fast and wrecked into reporting party’s lawn on West Vista Drive. Photos taken of damage which included a large shrub that was uprooted. Suspect not found. 

Sept. 16 

Report of house egged on N. Earl Road. 

Report of car stopped at drive through at business on N. Stratford Road. Two claimed they did not know car was stolen. Both suspects taken in for questioning.  

Report of unknown suspect(s) piling turf in front of business on W. Main Street. Reporting party asked for extra patrols and installed cameras.  

Report of vehicle and bicyclist collision on Pioneer Way and Nelson Road. Bicyclist was traveling westbound on sidewalk and turned onto crosswalk of Pioneer Way, headed south. Vehicle traveled north in outer lane of Pioneer Way. Bicyclist swerved out into oncoming traffic causing vehicle to collide with bicyclist. Bicyclist transported to Samaritan Hospital by bicyclist’s mom.  

Report of suspect throwing rocks towardbusiness and victim on E. Third Avenue. Victim said suspect never hit them. Victim taken to NewHope to get help with a protection order. Reporting party asked for suspect to be trespassed. 

Report of drug investigation on S. Balsam Street.  

Report of suspects trying to sell $295 of copper wire at business on w. Commerce Way. When asked where wire came from, suspects became confrontational and left.  

Report of student assaulting another student and verbal abuse towards school admin. School issued discipline.  

Report of fender bender on private property on S. Pioneer Way. Vehicle one backed into vehicle two in parking lot. Vehicle two was parked. 

Report of Washington State Police gun backgrounds called in about stolen gun at W. Broadway Avenue. Contact made, stolen gun confirmed and recovered.  

Report of found Washington ID card on S. Balsam Road. 

Report of vehicle one hitting vehicle two while backing into parking stall on E. 3rd Street. Vehicle two sustained damage to rear driver side door and window smashed. Vehicle two unoccupied at time of collision.  

Report of suspect driving recklessly on his motorcycle. Charges to be filed.

Sept. 12 

Adrian Elijah Sanchex, 21, Moses Lake, booked on residential burglary – domestic violence and second-degree criminal trespassing. 

Zane Valenteen Vasquez, 29, Moses Lake, booked on possession, delivery or manufacturing a schedule I or II narcotics.  

Sept. 13 

Khristian Cardenas, 34, Ephrata, booked on Grant County Superior Court Arrest Warrant for first-degree rap of a child and first-degree child molestation.  

Felix Colon, 20, Ephrata, booked on possession of stolen vehicle, obstructing a law enforcement officer, attempting to elude a police vehicle and third-degree malicious mischief. 

Arnaldo Tapia Gonzalex, 39, Mattawa, booked on fourth-degree assault – domestic violence and third-degree malicious misconduct – domestic violence.  

Jessica Ann Harber, 27, Beaverton, booked on fourth-degree assault – domestic violence.  

Chetan Kumar, 30, Seattle booked on three counts of fourth-degree assault – domestic violence.  

Sept. 14 

Kristina Machelle Wilson, 51, Ephrata, booked on fourth-degree assault – domestic violence.  

Allen Ivan rosales Ortiz, 26, Othello, booked on fourth-degree assault – domestic violence.  

Demetrio Daniel Robles, 18, Moses Lake, booked on protection order violation and operating vehicle without ignition interlock. 

Dwayne Dixon, 62, Moses Lake, booked on mandatory driving under the influence. 

Oscar Ocon Hernandez, 24, Moses Lake, booked on violation of harassment no contact order. 

Zane S. Zicklan, 26, Brooklyn, booked for second-degree criminal trespassing.  

Quentin Riley Quade, 19, Moses Lake, booked on second-degree theft, first-degree trafficking stolen property and first-degree identity theft. 

Juan Jose Reyna Avina, 33, Quincy, booked on driving under the influence. 

Sept. 15 

Luis Ortiz Quiroz, 25, Spokane Valley, booked on two counts of violation of protection order and third-degree driving with license suspended. 

Jay L. Ginder, 65, Ephrata, booked on fourth-degree assault – domestic violence.  

Randy L. Steward, 35, Ephrata, booked on Department of Security Warrant for third-degree assault with a weapon or other thing to cause harm.  

Sept. 16 

Daniel Morin, 21, Ephrata, booked for driving under the influence.  

Librado Guerrero Diaz, 44, Quincy booked for residential burglary – domestic violence, third-degree malicious mischief – domestic violence and violation of no contact protection order. 

Arnoldo Tapia Gonzalez, 39, Mattawa, booked on violation of no contact order. 

Gregorio Jr Orozco, 46, Pasco, booked on delivery/possession with intent to distribute and two out of county warrants for second degree assault, hit and run, third-degree driving with license suspended and driving without ignition interlock. 

Sept. 17 

Carlos Manuel Lopez, 33, Quincy, booked on fourth-degree assault – domestic violence.

Alkareem Jabbar Shadeed, 54, Moses Lake, booked on first-degree assault.  

Sept. 18 

Juan Perez Gonzalez, 35, Moses Lake, booked on felony violation of no contact protection order, interfering with reporting domestic violence and four Grant County District Court warrants for driving under the influence, reckless driving, physical control, and fourth degree assault – domestic violence.   

Zachary Austin Pruitt, 30, Moses Lake booked on mandatory driving under the influence. 

Arturo Julian Rodriguez, 23, booked on resisting arrest, first-degree driving with license suspended and Grant County District Courts for fourth-degree assault – domestic violence, two counts of driving with license suspended, fourth-degree assault – domestic violence and reckless driving.
