Alleged Franklin Co. shooter arrested in Moses Lake

MOSES LAKE — According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to assault with deadly weapons at 9090 Sagehill, at around 5:30 p.m. Sept. 15. Suspect Daniel Arcao-Martinez, 28, allegedly shot two people during the reported incident.

The two victims were transferred to Othello Hospital, one was in critical condition according to the FCSO release. 

Then, Sept. 16, Moses Lake Police Department and Grant County Sheriff’s Office arrested Arcao-Martinez at around 3:30 p.m. and he was subsequently charged with shooting his mother and stepfather the day prior.  

Earlier that day, MLPD had received information that Arceo-Martinez also known by the street name “Butcher” was potentially in Moses Lake. Officers then set up surveillance near the homeless encampment around the movie theater, according to an MLPD release. Soon after, an officer spotted Arcao-Martinez and took him into custody.  

Franklin County will take custody of Arceo-Martinez and he will face charges in that county. The crime occurred in the northern portion of Franklin County, south of Othello.
