Mid-Columbia Libraries Hosts Ice Age Flood Lecture
CONNELL — The Connell Public Library will host a lecture on the development of eastern Washington during the Ice Age, according to an announcement from Mid-Columbia Libraries. The event will be at 6 p.m. Sept. 19 at the library, 118 N. Columbia St.
Ice Age Floods Institute Chapter President Lloyd Stoess will present his lecture “Course Changes of Inland Northwest Rivers Due to the Ice Age Floods,” according to the announcement.
The public is invited to explore how the Columbia, Palouse and Yakima rivers were dramatically reshaped by the forces of the last Ice Age. Discover how these powerful natural events led to both temporary and permanent changes to the river courses, leaving an enduring mark on the landscape.
This event is free and open to the public and seating is first come, first served, the announcement said.
